I renewed my subscription last week for Norton 360. After the renewal my guest windows mail would not work. I use yahoo mail online and another company needs to use the windows mail. If I shut the firewall off the mail will work. I shut off email scan. When I read through the post I found the link that Shows how to custom allow windows mail through firewall. I changed the settings and still nothing. Error message 0x800ccc0e I am in the process of updating definitions and running scan which I don't think will change the problem. Knowledge on computers is limited. Tech support last night said problem was In windows mail. BS

I'm not exactly sure where this problem is but I do know that none of the x64 browsers are supported. I'm not sure about the mail programs.

I use Windows Live Mail.
I have done a Google search on 0x800ccc0e and it does appear to be a Windows Error Code. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302339

I've just remembered..... A couple of weeks ago my ISP had issues and shut down their Email Service for two or three days. My internet connection was fine, just no emails. Although I never wrote the code down, it does look similar to the one you have experienced.
Could this be it? Just a thought.
