You need to configure your Norton firewall for the home network.

Open Norton product>Click on NIS tab>Click on Settings>Click on Norton Internet Security options at the bottom> In the Norton Internet Security option s window in the left pane, click on firewall>cclick on trust control> Now on the right pane you can see your Network listed>Click on the network and then click on the trust tab under the activ tab.

Now you need to configure your intenet to firewall.

In the Norton Internet Security options window, click on firewall> click on program control> now on the right pane, check for internet explorer(iexplorer.exe) and change it's status to allow.

Then check   for Microsoft generic host for win 32 applications and change it to allow, also you can allow the programs which you wish.

Check  the performance now.

Thanks for your help. I have done you suggested and it went a little faster about 14/mbsec. I did disable Intrusion Prevention and this brought me up to about 45/mbsec. I am behind a network firewall so do I really need this. Is there a way to disable the at risk and fix for this item
