I’m seriously giving this some thought for my daily duster when the time comes to abandon Windows 10 for good. As always, trying to give a secondary perspective for everyone, one that is straight forward and easy to understand. I hope this helps some of you with keeping your Windows 10 machines live and living well into the future. Microsoft will be the end loser in this game of public opinion and change.
For those who are also looking for other distros to replace Windows 10, I wanted to post a “fair warning” with some follow-on article information about the use of Xubuntu. If you downloaded this distro via ANY TORRENT you are very likely to have an infected device. Please read the article below for more pertinent information.
Found a second Linux distro that I will use on one or more of my older devices. I installed Windows 11 on an older laptop using Rufus and the Windows 11 25H2 iso. I got Win 11 21H2 and Microsoft will NOT offer updates to the latest or other versions prior to 25H2. So in an nutshell, Microsoft will not allow updating any device you install Windows 11 onto that bypasses the requirements they impose. Here is the second Linux choice of mine that has already hit 1 million downloads since October 4, 2025. I might add that Microsoft HAS taken notice as well.
