I installed Norton 360 yesterday. Shortly after the install and update i performed a full scan (Well tried to it failed to run properly, but that is another issue.) After the scan I tried using TVcenter (Software that comes with PCTV tuner, was working fine upto this point) and Windows Media Center (WMC) to watch some cable TV. However the TV tuner was not functioning. WMC reports low bit rate and displays nothing. THE TVcenter software is a blank screen. Rolled back the PCTV drivers and updated them. No luck on TVcenter or WMC. Reinstalled the TVcenter software and updated per vendor instructions. Now TVcenter is working but WMC is not showing any channels still. There is a WMC add in from the TVcenter software but when I try to run the installer it fails with a zip container error. Reviewed the Norton 360 logs and found that it had deleted a file from the DRIVER ZIP folder. Now no matter what I do Norton deletes a piece of the driver package and WMC fails to work. It appears that Norton 360 is falsely Identifing part of the Drivers or Software for the TV tuner and removing it with out asking. Please help with a work around or a way to stop Norton 360 from interfering.
Hi Midwen281,
Welcome to Norton Community!
Disable Auto-Protect from Norton 360 for temporary purpose. Then install the driver package, and add the zip file/folder to the exclusion list:
Let us know if this worked for you.
Thanks,
