I have Norton Internet Security 2007 installed on my computer, however the subscription is expired. I recently lost my job and was looking for the cheapest way to renew subscription. While on Ebay comparing prices on NIS 2009 I noticed people were selling and buying the older versions. My first thought was if you bought the 2007 version the virus definitions wouldn't be up to date. But I'm thinking now that any version you have installed that has an active subscription would have access to all definition updates. Is that correct and does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on buying NIS 2007, which would save me alot of money, for virus protection?
Thanks for your time and help.

Hi TJ1436,
I want to echo Stu's concern about buying software on ebay.
You may see a great savings, but if the license is not legit you would be throwing your money away.
Undoubtedly you would have to buy a new subscription for this ebay item, so you should compare that cost to purchasing a license for the newest version.
Say he brought a 2006 key, since keys migarate 2006=>2009, installed IS2006, then upgraded to 2009 with the same key. Would that work?

Yes.
Want to echo stu and Phil_D comments: You may be viewing a Fake Web Page on ebay and/or the Product Key may be false.
To guarantee you get a genuine Copy and P.K., go to your Local symantec Online Store.

Yes that would work. As long as the key has never been activated, it should work fine.
