"Your Computer has a fix in progress"

Hi There,

I seem to be getting this message up when I try and use my norton security. My computer has been a bit slow and sometimes I have trouble starting up.

Do you know what the issue is? Help would be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for reply.

Windows 7. The Norton version I'm running is Norton 360? I've done some scans today and it seems to have resolved one or two issues.

I still have an old mcafee icon on my desktop. This protection has expired but I still get various messages from mcafee show up now and again. Do you think this is related to the problems I've been having? Thanks any suggestions would be helpful

If McAfee just expired, and was not removed, it could still interfere with Norton's operation. As you see from messages still showing up, it still has items running.

You need to fully remove McAfee using their removal tool.  You will find a link to the removal tool on this page.

After you remove McAfee, it would be advisable to reinstall Norton. You can do that using the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool.

Download the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from here   www.norton.com/nrnr
If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data.
Run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool.
Reboot.
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Import your Identity Safe data.

Let us know how this goes.
