Hello everyone,
I have a local network via my internet box, with shared folders. All the computers run Norton 360 (except the internet box). My computer is with Windows 10, my wife’s under Windows 11.
Recently my wife’s computer can no more connect to mine, and I get this message on my computer (sorry for the translation, I’m french)
:
“Incoming connexion blocked
We have blocked a connexion attempt to your computer via files and printers sharing
Name of the threat : SMB:Brute force
Attacker IP : 192.168.0.12 (my wife’s computer)
Process : system
Detected by : distant access protection
State : connexion blocked”
In the new Norton 360 interface, in Security → Advanded security → Network → Intrusion prevention :
- In the “connexion attempts” tab, I see that my wife’s computer tries to connect each 2 seconds roughly
- in the “exclusions” tab, I have defined her computer as an exclusion via the IP address (which is a fixed address in the DHCP of my box), which does not prevent Norton from blocking the connexions.
I ran a “complete analysis” with Norton 360 on both computer with no reported problem.
What can I do to restore the previous folders sharing ? We need it dayly…
Thanks for your help ! And have a good day…
