Audio/Videos stop working randomly since V24 upgrade

Issue abstract:

Audio / Video stops working.

Detailed description:

Ever since the new version was installed on my system (early), it has caused my audio and ability to watch videos to stop working at some point. It always requires a reboot to fix. Sometimes after a reboot, in a few hours the problem is back, sometimes it will work a day (or two at most) before the problem is back.

For audio, it just stops working.

For video, if you try to play it just spins, some places you’ll get a frame to show every second or so (but no audio of course).

Both the video / audio issues come together, it’s always both, never just one or the other.

I uninstalled the new version and installed McAfee to confirm it was the new V24 upgrade, and I haven’t had a single problem since uninstalling V24. I also never had an issue with the prior versions of NAV, been using it for years.

Hello. Version 24.xx is in the process of having its issues worked out and customers are not happy with it. Due to the same reasons you and others are posting about. Have you considered reverting back to the previous version of Norton 22.24.8.36 and remaining on that version until version 24.xx is ready for prime time? I have a how to post if that is what you would like to do. You would need to disable Live Updates as soon as the older version installs, and use the Intelligent updater daily to keep virus definitions current. You also should not manually run Smart Scan or live updates.

Yes, I can do that, where is the “how to” post? Thanks.

Revert to version 22.24.8.36 [here] & [here] & [here]
