Norton Private Browser’s new tab page has a confirmed limitation that only allows a maximum of six shortcuts to be added by the user.
This limitation has been noted by many users in the Norton Community forums, as the browser does not display a message when a user attempts to add more than the allowed limit.
Managing Shortcuts in Norton Private Browser
- Adding Shortcuts: You should be able to add up to six shortcuts by clicking the “Add Shortcut” icon on the new tab page and entering the site details.
- Removing Shortcuts: To remove an unwanted shortcut (including those automatically added from websites you visit), click the three dots (
...) located at the top-right of the specific shortcut icon, and then select Remove. - Preventing Automatic Shortcuts: The browser may automatically add shortcuts based on your browsing history. To stop this behavior, users in the Norton Community found success by disabling the Norton Safe Search Plus extension within the browser settings.
