How to stop Norton Secure Browser short cuts on home page

I would like to keep Norton Private browser "private" by not having it add short cuts to the home page.  I dislike clicking on the 3 dots to remove it.  The browser even adds it after I have deleted all the cookies and browser history and also after closing the browser and re-opening again. It always adds a shortcut from a previous website to the home page.  Not private at all.  Users should be able to turn that off!  Any fixes?

Thanks & Thanks to @peterweb

Thanks bjm_!  Turned off the Safe Search extension and that solved it.  Appreciate your help!

A little testing with the Norton Browser extensions seems to show that having the Safe Search Plus extension enabled does seem to add the visited web sites to the new tab page. Turning off that extension did not stop new additions to the new tab page.

Yes, turning off Safe Search Plus stops new additions to the new tab page.  Thanks
as test: Safe Search Enhanced - Chrome & Edge - does not add additions to the new tab page.
