Cannot review Norton Dashboard as system is locked up when clicking on anything to do with norton 360

Hi, today I have the same issue with my pc freezing up when I open norton UI:

.
There are Scan issues which I cannot get to. As there was another Windows update today, I restarted the pc to run the update and the scan issue has disappeared.
I’m not running the Norton Secure VPN which is Disabled. And I still have not been able to access my existing.backups.

seems like yesterday’s message couldn’t be delivered, so let’s try again…

Is there ANY other software or tools that load when the system boots which may be a part of this issue? Having the same issue reappear time after time after so many R&R / reinstalls, points me toward software or settings on the system preventing Norton from loading correctly.

Hi,
these are the startup apps as per the Task Manager:

Am I the only one with issues still ? Sorry for that but thanks for continuing your help.

Still seeing NORD VPN is set to load with Windows sets red flags for me. WhatsApp loading with Windows? Mobile Devices ? More than one conflict is what I see. Reinstalls don’t change anything so there has to be something loading with Windows that is keeping Norton from doing what it needs to do. What is “Monitor” listed used for?

SA

‘monitor’ is the app for the Perixx left hand mouse.
I need nordVPN so should I load this manually ?
Should I load WhatsApp manually ?
Why is this all conflicting with Norton when all these apps were loading fine 2 weeks ago ?
Sorry but I think with my limited knowledge, that Norton lets these releases ‘Escape’ without rigorous testing. No disrespect to you, but one heck of a lot to Norton.

Yes, load WhatsApp manually. NordVPN should be COMPLETELY removed and the system restarted to clear things. Do not reinstall it and retest your Norton install again.

This is my reasoning for this:
Norton 360 has it own VPN and associated services which will, by default, get set to load with Windows startup. Although you will still need to turn the VPN on or off manually setting the Norton VPN to start with Windows startup does the setting it to ON for you automatically, If there is also a second VPN set to load at Windows one, or the other, will fail. The Norton 360 VPN is an integral part of the Norton Suite, not standalone. NordVPN is a standalone VPN, completely separate from Norton. The difference could be, that malware is locking up Norton where as, the NordVPN would not qualify as a security suite and may be being bypassed. I’m running out of ideas at this point.

Thank you SA, but I know that the Norton VPN is not suitable for successful streaming and if I hit any errors in streaming, it will take an age to get it sorted with Norton, even if I’m lucky enough to get help from Norton.
NordVPN will always answer with a positive action within 12 hours - that is how good they are compared to this Norton company.
You have been exceptional in your help and I thank you.

You’re welcome as always.

Hi, SA.
I think that the issue I was having may be solved now, thanks to a question you asked me regarding the Start-up apps.
I started disabling them in Services one by one, then restarting the pc and then clicking on the Norton icon. If my pc locked up, then I ran Services again and re-enabled the app.
Until I came to the app, Monitor, which you asked what is was for. I have always thought it was for my Perixx mouse but it isn’t - I have no idea how it got loaded onto my system. Anyway, when I disabled it and restarted the pc, I could open up the Norton UI. Thank you for suggesting it.
