Can't Clear "Possible Solution" for My Own Posts

In recent weeks I've noticed that replies I've just posted sometimes appear with a yellow "Possible Solution" banner, but when I try to edit my post to remove this banner the "I believe this comment solves the Forum Thread" checkbox is unchecked, and toggling that checkbox On/Off won't remove that yellow banner.  See my reply in Mae King's thread Windows WARP JT Service for one example.

Norton Forum Possible Solution Banner 21 Nov 2019.pngNorton Forum Possible Solution Unchecked 21 Nov 2019.pngI'm not sure if I accidentally enabled that checkbox while composing my message today (I think the sensitivity of the touchpad on my Win 10 machine still needs some tweaking laugh) or if it's because I accidentally refreshed the tab while I was composing my reply and had to use the green "Load Saved Content" button to recover the bulk of my message, but is there any way to clear that yellow "Possible Solution" banner after the reply is submitted, assuming I'm still within the 60 min window for making edits?

Bump (again).  Is anyone from Norton looking into this?

It appears the problem goes beyond users not being able to clear the yellow "Possible Solution" banner if they uncheck the "I believe this comment solves the Forum Thread" checkbox.

I've also noticed various threads where the original poster clicked "Mark as Solution" for a reply in their thread and later changed their mind and clicked "Clear Solution", but their thread title still has a green "Solved" icon in the main listings.

For example, the original post of ITMA's 09-Jan-2020 A Conundrum ? W10 Upgrade - 2 - Ver 1909 has a red banner stating "This forum thread needs a solution" but the Tech Outpost board shows the thread as Solved:

The original post of SoulAsylum's 12-Jan-2020 Desktop ini file appears on the desktop also has a red banner stating "This forum thread needs a solution" but the newly renamed Norton Security / Norton Internet Security / Norton AntiVirus board also shows this thread as Solved:

Did something get screwed up when the forum boards were recently renamed?  It seems odd that SoulAsylum's thread appears to show it is posted in Forums | Norton Products rather than the newly renamed Forums | Norton Products | Norton Security / Norton Internet Security / Norton AntiVirus board:

Bump (again).

Could one of the Forum Mods please explain if the only way that one of these yellow "Possible Solution" banners can appear above one of my replies is if I click the "I believe this comment solves the Forum Thread" checkbox in the editor while composing my message (e.g., can another user add this banner to my reply after it is posted)? Secondly, if I accidentally click this checkbox and post my reply, should I still be able to edit my reply and uncheck this checkbox to clear the yellow "Possible Solution" banner (assuming the 60 min period for editing my post hasn't expired) or am I supposed to I click the Notify a Moderator link and ask a Forum Mod to remove the banner for me?

Hi Imacri,

When ı read tours post, ı don't know realy in my case, if it was a false manipulation or a bug on the forum.

But I don't have a special privilege for editing chekbox about solving solution statut of the message.

I had juste notified an administrator about this.

Thanks.

Bump.  Could one of the Forum Mods please let me know if it's normal that I am unable to remove these yellow "Possible Solution" banners from my own replies, assuming the 60 min period for editing my post hasn't expired.

When this yellow "Possible Solution" banner appears above one of my posts, it appears as soon as I submit the reply so I'm guessing it's there because of something I've done myself (e.g., I've accidentally clicked the "I believe this comment solves the Forum Thread" checkbox in the editor while composing my message).  I don't want to add these yellow banners to my own posts (it looks like I'm trying to solicit a kudo or badger the OP into marking my post as the correct solution) and I don't know how to remove them.

Hi bjm_:

Thanks for the link.  I'm guessing Guru Guillaume1024's comment about "a false manipulation" means he accidentally enabled the "I believe this comment solves the Forum Thread" checkbox while composing his message, but how was the yellow Possible Solution banner on his post eventually removed?  Do Gurus have a special privilege (e.g., like the @mention feature) that allows them to remove an unwanted Possible Solution banner themselves?

I recall when I saw a "Possible Solution" banner that I did not, to my knowledge, place.  I could not remove the banner.  Maybe, had I placed the banner.  I'd be able to remove the "Possible Solution" banner.... as it now appears, Guillaume1024 removed the banner.
