Constant AntiTrack update notices, but update button non-functional

I have Norton AntiTrack installed on my Dell laptop running Windows 11 Home version 25H2. I repeatedly and frequently receive a pop-up message on my screen entitled “Norton AntiTrack Update Available.” It has a button labeled “Update Now,” but when I click on the button, nothing happens, no new webpage appears, and the pop-up message disappears. Unlike other programs, Norton AntiTrack’s user interface does not include any option for updating the program. I have tried uninstalling the program and re-installing it from my account on Norton’s website, but that doesn’t change anything. The pop-up messages still continue to appear, and the “Update Now” button still doesn’t work. If Norton is sending out an update message, it should work. If Norton is not sending this update message and it is some hacker trying to install malwarwe, Norton should look into that.

@Peter_B_Shawhan Can you get a screenshot of what the notice is so that we can validate it?

Hi @Peter_B_Shawhan ,

I think part of the answer must be provided here by @nivasraja : AntiTrack plugin for Firefox keeps updating - #9 by nivasraja

I interpret the situation as follows: the newly announced version 4.5 is likely causing issues for a number of users during the update. The rollout is therefore most likely temporarily paused while the necessary fixes are made to ensure the stability of this update.
So I presume, then, that the alert is notifying you of the update because you are included in the current rollout, but you are not receiving anything because it is delayed.

In conclusion, it’s annoying, but nothing to worry about. Wait a while and everything should return to normal on its own.

Hi @Peter_B_Shawhan ,
Can you please clarify which browser you are using when this non-working pop-up asking for Norton Antitrack update occurs ?
Thanks in advance.

Guillaume

Hi @Peter_B_Shawhan ,

I particularly draw your attention to this message from @nivasraja which provides a response to the problem that you reported with an official announcement of an upcoming update of the Firefox extension (v4.8.0) of Norton Antitrack resolving this problem soon.

Thank you for your patience !

Cheers.
