In my BACKUP section, I have an old backup of an old computer not in use and backup is over a year old. Takes up about 30GB. There is no option to DELTE or REMOVE backup like there is for “backup of this PC”. How can I delete it to gain back the cloud space for current PC?
The old archived similar topics do not help.
This issue has been reported here already. Even using the information here to remove the older backup set(s), does not seem to adjust the available storage space noted in the 360 app.
This is just another feature/item that did not get transferred correctly in the newer versions of the 360 backup feature.
Yes. The only option you have on the “old” backup is to RESTORE it, not MANAGE it. The MANAGE button is the one that has the option to DELETE.
I have escalated your thread to be added to the others with the same issue.
Can you tell me the name of the thread that you added me to? Thank you for the help
I did not add you to any thread. I just escalated your thread to the forum admins to pass along to the appropriate Norton team to diagnose and fix the missing option to delete old backups. The forum admins are already aware of at least one other thread about this.
I had same problem. Solution is not in your Norton app. One has to go to my.norton.com and log in there. There you can see your cloud backup sets and yes there is a trash can button to delete. Note well, you cannot delete specific folders or files from a backup set; only the entire set.
The issue users are seeing here is that even if you delete the backup set using your Norton Account, the 360 app still shows the storage available does not get updated and will report that you do not have enough storage to run your current backup.
I wentb to my,norton, com and deleted the “old” backup. It still shows that I can “restore it”, but now my correct backup shows it is taking 111 GB of storage in the cloud and that is correct. The total usage is also showing 111 GB, so it is all correct now. Thank you
