I have been a customer for MANY years. Up till now I was happy with services. They took away the backup service and replaced with ICLOUD. At first I could setup backup to external drive. Now the service doesn’t even load. I DO NOT want to back up to the Cloud. I am traditional and do not trust it. I am extremely unhappy with this version of Norton. I pay for 10 PCs. Give me my old backup back where I can go directly to external and pick what I want. I am considering another product. Are there others who feel the same?
@BDS Indeed its concerning that for a third time Norton claims to have corrected the backups issues yet, that isn’t the case. The official announcement states this clearly that the local backup issue was resolved:
4. What’s new in Norton 25.5.10141?
- Fixed a bug where users could not access local or cloud backup - Thread
You may want to check your internal Norton settings and perform a “repair” of Norton to see whether that offers any changes.

I already have this version. I did the repair and was able to get to the screen to create an external backup, choose files, but it doesn’t backup and does not save the setup information. It comes back and says “no local backups created.”

My drives are fine. My last backups were successful on May 4, 2025. The update must have taken place on May 27, 2025 because that is the date I see on all the program files. I don’t even see my backup sets from May 4.

If your Norton is not working as expected and you’ve tried Troubleshooting → Reset to Default &or Repair Norton & clean re-install Norton 360…then…reach out to Norton support.
Note: Reset to Default resets Cloud Backup

I performed the Reset All Settings and this solved the problem. All of my backups from May 4 are now appearing and I was able to backup files to my external. Thank you for your help.
