I just purchased Norton Driver Updater. After a scan, it shows 11 drivers out of date. The problem is that none of the buttons to update drivers work. I click the “update all” button and nothing happens. I spam click it, nothing happens. I click the arrow right of individual drivers and click update, then a new window pops up with the title of “Norton Driver Updater” and a spinning wheel. I left it like this over night and nothing.
I have restarted my computer several times but nothing.
Here’s my poor experience with Driver Updater. Always a number of out-of-date drivers after several Norton products (Driver Updater, Scan, Utilities) have a look. Last time I used Updater before I cancelled my sub, it updated some Intel/Realtek drivers which are incompatible with my device! So my microphone fell over, blocking me from Teams etc. Norton customer service tried to fix this, including reinstalling Updater and then cancelling it - still no microphone. In the end, I got help from Microsoft but I needed three levels of technician before they got it sorted. I’m sceptical about whether Updater “recognises” which update is compatible … even though it’s scanning MY device. Norton needs to do some more “what if” scenarios with its new products, I think
I have the same issue. Application installed, restarted several times, Norton finds my outdated drivers, I select “Update All” (or I try to update an individual driver), a new window opens and I get a blank page with the spinning wheel of death. I even left it running overnight, no change.
I was skeptical of this product, but thought I would try it with a free trial. I am computer savvy and after a recent reformat and complete windows re-install, I keep having driver like issues. Sound not working correctly, programs crashing. I looked on the website of my motherboard manufacturer (MSI) and it shows I have the latest drivers. However Norton shows 11 outdated drivers, nearly all relating to the Mobo. I thought that maybe MSI is dropping the ball and not listing the newest drivers, but maybe not.
Long story short, I’m going to trust myself to update drivers and cancel Driver Updater. Hopefully Norton will actually make usable software before bombarding me with ads and scare tactics…
Norton needs to discontinue this app and refund all users! This application sucks and either causes problems (installs wrong drivers), hounds you with pop-ups telling you you have outdated drivers (most of the time you don’t), or gives you the spinning wheel of eternity when you try to apply a recommended update. I’ve also heard of people getting the blue screen of death (luckily not me). My recommendation is to uninstall it, cancel your subscription, and look for an alternative when it comes to anything Norton. Plus too, their prices are outrageous (even if it was a good product which it isn’t)! Remember, if you’re savvy enough to know you need to keep drivers updated then you can update them yourself (google search how) or simply find a cheaper, more reliable alternative to Norton driver update.
I’m here for the same problem, decided to try Norton Driver Update, but nothing happens when I click the update all button, it just spins and sometimes open a blank window. Notice many have this issue but there is no solution anywhere. Why can’t Norton fix it or reply here?
Just downloaded this today and I had the same problem. After going to the hamburger menu in the top right hand corner I noticed the sign in option. Once I signed in everything worked perfectly.
Apologies for not being very specific. My assumption was the title of this thread was evident, however I also understand the confusion with community threads where you can need confirmation as you switch between threads.
I downloaded Norton Driver Updates application today January 4 2025.
I mistakenly assumed I was already signed in to ALL Norton applications when I purchased and downloaded the addon Application called Driver Uodates. I found after two attempts of clicking on update all on outdated drivers, as well as trying to update individual driver updates that were giving me a blank screen with a never ending load circle that I needed to read the help option which is applicable to every software application. I clicked the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines) in the top right corner of the screen that tells you that drivers need updating. There is an option within this dropdown menu to sign in. Once I signed into Norton I was as able to update each outdated driver immediately.
My only purpose for submitting a reply to this issue was to assist others who may miss this important step.
Point taken, will leave you all to it.
I had the same problem multiple times. Then I found and followed the advice to uninstall the app via Windows 11 Control Panel and reinstall through my Norton account subscriptions. Now it works as intended. But having read some of the other responses I will cancel the subscription before the trial period ends.
