Just downloaded the long awaited patch via LiveUpdate. It works! Everything that was not working, pulse updates, automatic liveupdate, norton community watch, they’re all working now. Thank you Symantec. It was worth the wait.

What version of Windows are you running? This hasn't happened on my XP machines.Message Edited by mijcar on 11-10-2008 04:07 PM
Run Norton LiveUpdate now and you will get the Three Updates which Require a Re-start.
Running Vista Business

Hmm...I'm not getting the patches either. I'm running Vista 64bit.

Just reboot. I must have had the update put in place for a reboot because that's what did the trick. I guess it works two ways:
1. If you run reboot and you get the upgrade, it will ask you to reboot.
2. It it's an auto-reboot, it just quietly installs as far as it can go, then waits patiently for you to reboot so it can complete the upgrade.

So you see, you are getting the Updates!
What Version is your N.I.S. 2009 now, mijcar?
And I would say Number Two.

Thanks Mijcar - but no luck with rebooting. I tried it twice and ran the manual live updates in between restarts. Perhaps no fix for 64bit OS yet.
I am running Vista Busines SP1 32bit OS and all is fine. Perhaps you are right about no fix for 64bit OS yet.

You're right. I got it this way on one machine, but the other two (one XP3 and the other VHP1) got nothing. It must be a server thing. If you're lucky enough to hit the right server, you get it; if not, you don't. The new build is now 16.1.0.33. The old one was 16.0.0.125.
16.1.0.33
Floating_Red wrote:What is your Norton 2009 Version?
I have 16.0.0.125

Yeah...you could be right about the server thing. I guess I will just keep trying my luck with the live update.
Is this for NIS 2009???

Yes. :D Finally.
So not involving us NAV2008 ers
What type of patch is this? So when I move up to NIS2009 I'll know what I'm missing
Its to address the Live Update problems which is all over this forum. I still have yet to recieve it. Rebooted 3 times and ran LU about 6 times. Probably time zone related.
Rebooting did not change my version number from 16.0.0.125 ..... after twice running Liveupdate and getting 3 updates that did not require rebooting.
After that reboot I ran LUD again and got one update which said it was a pulse update -- no change in version number.
This is on XP Pro SP3 + updates since.
I am still waiting lol.
