Sorry for all the users here seeing this issue. All I can report is that Norton is aware of the issue, and will release a fix in a future version. No timeline can be placed on this fix.
I have the same problem. Started today. Redmi Note 8. Android 10 QKQ1.200114.002
I have the same problem. Sony Xperia 5 (J9210) Android 11.
Norton ignores the Problem. Other Apps solved the new “Feature”. I’m using
Smart App Lock - Download Link : http://market.android.com/details?id=com.sp.protector.free
They made an Update for Android 11 and doesn’t ignore there Problems.
Bye bye, i used norton because that is (was?) a good company
Just got a software update for motorola edge, build QPDS30.114-80-4, and having the same issue where fingerprint is not recognized on any locked app. Passcode still works.
Applock is not recognising either my fingerprint or pin,Sony 1 ii, android 11, fingerprint works everywhere else on phone. Only gives you one chance at fingerprint, then pin doesn't work either.
Steve Lawman:Also started happing for me too today after a software update Sony 1 Mark 2
I'll add your report to this issue also. It seems that there is something in a security update that is being sent out that is messing up Norton's the interaction with the OS.

timbw:I have exactly the same problem - and my phone is a OnePlus6T.
I see that if you have the latest OS version, it will be OxygenOS based on Android™ Pie. This also falls into the proprietary OS category I mentioned above.
I'll let my contacts know about your device as well.
I have exactly the same problem - and my phone is a OnePlus6T.
Norton must Contact google too, and Norton must know that there Software doesn't work good actually.
The app works fine on all other manufacturer's devices or we would see users of other devices posting here. As I noted above, when an issue is only on one manufacturer's device, especially just after a system update, who would you blame. If the manufacturer makes changes to the Android OS, they do not always share this code with third parties for security reasons.
I’ll posted this Forum and all Infos to the google- supporters 7.1.2021 and also today.
I hope they read this all.
It is a pixel- BUG - or a new Feature, i don’ t know.
I am Software Developer (Windows/COBOL (yes, COBOL!!).
Norton must Contact google too, and Norton must know that there Software doesn’t work good actually. It is Nortons Interest too to solve the Problem.
I must look for an other App, if both companys do nothing.
The blame game. No one wants to take responsibility for a problem. But you reported here that the function stopped working after the update to your device. Did you point out that you and other users saw this issue starting with the January 2021 security update to your device?
At least Norton is looking into it from their side. But if it is only on the Pixel devices, it makes it more difficult to diagnose and fix.
Mail from Google
I got mail from Google support team. They advised me to contact app developer team.
They clearly stated it’s not our problem it’s Norton’s.
Today the next general Update from google comes. The Error is NOT correctet. And there was no Answer from Google since my Question or my Error Report. I hope that Norton can solve the Problem. Auch wenn das Problem von google verursacht wurde.
Apparently Pixel devices get monthly updates. https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/pixel As you have reported the issue to Google, hopefully you will see an update that will address the issue.
My contacts are still looking into it from Norton's side.
I had send the Problem to the Google Supporter too.

Done. Google is now aware of this.
Thanks. And to all others seeing this, please send reports to the manufacturer. The more it is reported to the manufacturer, the better chance that they will take note of the issue.
