Yes..They released it early

Not showing up when I check for updates. Besides it probably will break a bunch of add-ons again. If there are no security related fixes I think I will pass. Tired of this BS from Mozilla. IE is looking better with each FF version.

FF 5.0.1 still on main download site. You must be getting a Beta. From what site are you downloading 6.0????

Jim

On recent releases Mozilla has used soft launches via FTP to make the new browsers available a few days prior to the official release date.  That does not, however, change the official release date, and people downloading the browser early should have no expectation that add-ons will be compatible prior to August 16.

Mozilla has stated that the Firefox 6 downloads available on their FTP servers "are currently not final and are still going through QA testing," according to The H website.

Firefox 6 is officially out now.

The search toolbar has been disabled.

I just got a update pop up on my computer saying that Firefox 6 was available but I do not want to download it and have my Norton 360 be uncompatible again.

Mozilla is going to fast with their upgrades.. I'm staying with Firefox 5

My thoughts exactly

Hello SendOfJive!
It seems we are gearing into the same mess all over again... Mozilla spoke on 15 August 2011, at 10:22 AM...  I still didn't hear from Norton... Is NIS 2012 going to be out any time soon?
I know beforehand this is a rethorical kind of question, but it has to be asked: When does Norton plan to have a patch ready for downloading? And is going to be provided via the regular automatic updates or does it have to be manually downloaded by the brave users of Norton's?
Where is Hugh?
Thanks for any helpful info you can provide.

This is ridiculous every time Mozilla releases a new build Norton Toolbar is incompatible.

Meanwhile it's probably just a change in build number inside of the Toolbar to make it work.

Example

Code:
Compatibility Level: 5.x

So Norton will put out this hotfix or "update" and this is what'll happen.

Code:

Compatibility Level 6.x

Then come up with some story about how interface issues were to blame. Which is why it was not compatible immediately.

This is very disappointing. I am sure you can understand my frustration.

Upon hearing about Firefox 6.0 my immediate thoughts were "oh crap Norton won't be compatible again."

I agree, I would rather being using FF 5 with the online security of Norton, than upgrade to the newest version of FF without that protection.

But firefox 6 among other things fixes possible security issues that are present in firefox5..

Im sorry but a large corporation like symantec /norton should be on the ball and have the toolbar etc ready for it.Practically all of my current plugins /addons are already comapatible ...except of course norton.Avgs linkscanner had support for firefox 6 on the 4th of august.Lets not make excuses for norton just because we use thier software. They really need a kick up the backside imo.

Tool bar update is now realised for download.

see Tim's post here:

regarding the FireFox 6 toolbar issue.
