Free Norton Utilities Premium Requires an Activation Key that's not provided

The free Norton Utilities Premium software installation process requires an activation key. I'm not able to find any such key in my account. Is this free Norton Utilities Premium actually a scam?

Yes, I have typed each character in individually;

Did you have caps lock on when typing in the key? Another user found this made a difference.

Hi,
I'm curious.....
What does Member Services & Support say about your key that does not work?
Does Support confirm your Utilities Premium key is valid?
What does Support suggest regarding your key that does not work?

Remote Session is optional.
Remote Session is not required to speak with Support.

Yes, I have typed each character in individually; Yes, I have the correct key; No, the key does not work. Stop sending me links to Norton "help" pages. I have spent at least an hour trying on the norton site trying to get this to work, reviewing multiple "help" pages. No, I'm not going to sit at my desk for 30 minutes waiting for online support who then wants to take control of my computer. You crashed one computer doing that Norton, not gonna happen again. How about you send me a key that works? That's all I need, just a set of numbers and letters that will active Norton Utilities Premium.

Error: "Error 2: Activation Key Not Recognized..." when activating Norton Utilities Premium

The Activation key you entered is not a valid key to activate your product. Type your product key again. Be very careful to type it exactly as it appears.

The product key for Norton Utilities Premium is different from the product key for your Norton Protection.

I can find my key after a little searching but IT DOES NOT WORK. I just need a key that works, I don't need some rando taking control of my computer, I just need A KEY THAT WORKS.

Since, you tried typing license key ...one character at a time.
What does Norton Support say about key that does not work?

Norton Utilities Premium

If you see the message "Error 2: Activation Key Not Recognized..." when activating Norton Utilities Premium, read Error: "Error 2: Activation Key Not Recognized..." when activating Norton Utilities Premium

  1. Sign in to Norton.

  2. In the My Subscription page scroll down, under Norton Utilities Premium, you can find the product key.

Write down or copy the product key.

  3. Start Norton Utilities Premium.

  4. Click Activate Now.

  5. Enter the Norton Utilities Premium product key and click Activate now.

If you see any errors while activation, it is likely that the product key you have entered is incorrect or it is for a different product. Check if the product key is entered correctly and try activating again.

Common mistakes when entering product key

    • Spaces in the product key will cause an error.

    • Make sure you are entering license information for the specific product you are using. License information for one Norton product is not interchangeable with another Norton product.

For example, you cannot use the product key for your Norton protection to activate Norton Utilities Premium. You can find the product key for Norton Utilities Premium in the My Subscription page of your account.

If you still see a message indicating incorrect or invalid licensing information, verify that you typed the license information exactly as shown.

Some characters (such as the number 0 and the letter O) can look very similar. Try double-checking the following: the letters O, l (lower-case l), I (capital I); and the numbers 0 (zero) and 1 (one).

Maybe this Norton Support Video will help How to find your product key, serial number, and order number

Every time this site claims to show a screenshot of the My Subscription page, it instead shows a completely different page that doesn't exist.

Just to confirm. The My Subscription page is found on the Norton Account web site at https://my.norton.com After you sign into your Norton Account at that web site you will see the Devices page. You need to click on the user icon at the top right and then click on My Subscriptions. That page will then show your subscription information, including your subscription key(s) for your products.

Every time this site claims to show a screenshot of the My Subscription page, it instead shows a completely different page that doesn't exist. The My Subscription page that does exist doesn't show my activation key. This site is garbage. Every time renewal is coming up, I come here & have some kind of unsolvable problem. I don't have this kind of trouble with any other site, company, product, or service. Sort it out.

Here's an idea that everyone else in the world would've come up with on their own. If a help page tells me to go to another page, LINK ME TO THAT PAGE! Even if the screenshot showed the right page, it still wouldn't be helping me find the page. It's like if a friend asked where you live & you sent 'em a photo of your bedroom.

I am done with Norton; spending 30 minutes to activate a product I installed from my account and still not getting it to work is the last straw. Is malwarebytes for business easy to use? Looking at some other sites, just uninstalling norton maybe a little rough.

Endless screens —No help

Agree with all the other comments on this page!

Norton help screens are all circular leading nowhere and eventually back to where you started

Product key and serial numbers from dash board and my subscription page( once you’ve hunted 20 minutes for it) are USELESS.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT

Time for me to cancel and dump this nonsuppirtive company!

FWIW ~ sometime copy paste shifts characters set a space to the right.
I try to check that my cursor is at the far left after paste characters.
Often the paste will then shift to the left.
Just saying.

Edit: now see peterweb explain better than me

Not sure if this is what you had happen, but I sometimes find that when I highlight a key or similar item I want to copy, if I am not careful, I get a leading or trailing space in my copied item. When pasted, it shows as an extra character that is not expected in that field, so it gets denied.

I was, and I found the problem. You cannot copy and paste the key (why not?); you have to type it in character by character. That solved the problem.

My problem is a little different. I found both a "key" and a serial number on my account page for Norton Utilities, but NEITHER is accepted by the program. Just ridiculous; and they want to wait 16+ minute for an online chat or 30+ minutes (their estimates) for support. Just rubbish. I don't think i will be renewing with Norton next year.

Be sure you are looking at the Norton Utilities Premium in your My Subscriptions page. Not the Norton 360 key.
