Norton did an up-date last night and afterwards I did a full scan. Now there is a small grey box with a white slash in it on every file. Looking on-line, it seems this has to do with Norton. Does anyone else have this? I saw posts about green overlays, but this is a grey square and slash.
I turned off the back-ups months ago, so I don’t think it’s marking the back-up files. Is it marking all the scanned files? Really hope someone can help. This last version of Norton’s been nothing but problems, it’s extremely irritating.
@mandc The fix for this and other backup overlay issues is “coming soon”. And of course, we here on the forums never ever get privy to what that time line will be. Thanks for letting us know of the issue, Norton is paying attention.

Delete the most recent Backup & hit Refresh & Walah!.. It worked for me
Thanks for the information - hope they do something about it. I did delete the back-ups but still the same, how do you do “refresh”? Do you have to reinstall Norton? (don’t really feel like doing that, just want it to work like it used to…).
And what exactly does the “grey square with white slash” overlay mean? Does anyone know? Looking around Norton gives no clues (well, it’s not easy to navigate anymore, I find).
“coming soon” … If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that recently, I’d have a LOT of dollars.
@Mitch.Green Wouldn’t we all. Thus the reason I am still on version 22.24.8.36 and staying there until the new version messes are corrected.
Regards.
