I fell victim to what I believe was a deceptive marketing ploy. I received an email from with the heading "Check out your new feature: Privacy Manager. Being I am newly subscribed Norton Client, I believed the Privacy Manager feature was a new feature added to my subscription because of the email heading. I clicked on the link and was asked personal information. At first I was hesitant to provide the information. Even more so after seeing my personal information would be stored for future reference. I thought about it and decided there would be no harm in providing the information. After all I was trusting the company to provide online protection for my family.
I provided the personal information which was requested. It was not until after provided the private information that I learned the email was a solicitation for an additional service. Since I did not wish to purchase an additional service I opted not to purchase Privacy Manager.
I attempted to delete my personal information but was not able to return to the input screens. I contacted Chat Support requesting the removal of my personal information. I wanted assure my personal information would not be stored or shared with anyone.
I was provided an 800 telephone number for Lifelock Support. My efforts to make contact and resolved my issue have been fruitless.
I apologize for using this forum to voice my concerns. My only reason for writing is because I was advised by Chat Support this was my only option for a formal complaint.
Thank you.
