It lags down my computer while I’m busy with it whenever it feels like it (it seems), to check for Software Updates (Performance). Is there a way to disable it completely or at least have it so I can click a manually check button instead?
Hello @CyRaid
~ with Software Updater…Auto-Update Off & Settings Off…Norton still checks and reports:
~ for example:
fwiw ~ my practice is Ignore app
and if needed Stop Ignoring
It still checks periodically, which uses a lot of disk. Is there a way to stop from automatically ‘checking’ in the first place?
Hello @CyRaid
Yes, Software Update still checks and reports.
Sorry, Community is not aware how to stop ‘checking’.

Sorry for the long delay to reply. That’s basically what I thought. No way to turn it off. Why would they do that? How easy would it be to program that in? As a programmer, I say it would be extremely easy to add in.
