I find some websites I have added to my Identity Safe Logins will not automatically fill in when I return to the website. This happens in both IE8 and Firefox. The website appears in the "Manage Log-ins" list but doesn't appear in the drop down list of websites when I click on "Cards & Log-ins" on the Norton toolbar. An example of a website which I'm currently experiencing trouble with is costco.ca
I have "Auto-fill in when I visit this page" and "Enable log-in to be auto submitted" selected for this website.
Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this issue?
Unfortunately the site is not included in the autofill exclusion list.
Here is some more info on the problem.
I went to "Manage Logins" and deleted costco.ca
Then I went to the Costco.ca website, manually logged in and Norton asked if I wanted to save the login. I OK'd the save. Logged out of Costco.ca and tried to login again and Norton filled in the login ok. I closed Firefox, then restarted it and tried to login to Costco.ca and again Norton filled it in automatically. Then I did a reboot, went to Costco.ca and no automatic login.
So it appears that the rebooting process is part of the problem.

I did as you instructed and after a reboot the Costco login worked fine. I thought things were solved but after logging on to some other websites, shutting down and restarting Firefox, and deleting history the Costco login didn't auto fill again. I tried a reboot and it is again auto-filling. I'll try things for a couple of days before checking that the problem is completely solved.
The problem is back. Norton auto-logged me onto the Costco.ca web site last night. I shutdown my computer overnight and this morning the auto login for Costco.ca doesn't work anymore. I use the "automatically log out of identity safe if computer is inactive for 15 minutes" option. Could that possibly affect things?

If you had been logged out of Identity Safe the autofill function would no longer work. If you are suggesting that just having the 15 minute setting enabled might somehow affect the automatic log in, it should not. But you could switch to another setting to check this if you suspect a problem.
one thing I a have observed with regard to Identity Safe....is that website has to complete loading for Cards & Log-ins to function....I wonder if the site address that populates to address bar is exactly the same when Log-in does work and when Log-in does not work....I wonder if Costco.co has a cookie or flash cookie or DOM storage requirement that somehow is altered by a reboot after an unknown time period.
I wonder are you able to duplicate your issue without using Identity Safe. Manual Log-ins, cycle browser, reboots, and reboot after the unknown time period (over night). If you can duplicate the issue that would eliminate Identity Safe as causal. If this test is unacceptable to you .....
Have you considered contacting Costco.co customer service - web support just to see what their explanation might be for your issue.
Unless there is unknown bug with your identity Safe...then issue points to website??
OS here is Vista 32 bit. To start Norton Identity safe working again with the Costco.ca site I go to "Manage Log-Ins" on the Norton toolbar and delete the Costco entry. Then go to the website and do a manual login and Norton always asks to save the login. I say yes and I'm in business for some time. I will try some repeated manual logins and see if there's a site problem. One thing I don't understand is why Costco.ca never shows in the drop down, under Cards & Log-ins, even when it's performing correctly. I have noticed this with some other sites as well. I have also changed to "Ask for my password at the beginning of each login session" to see if that has any effect.
If folks are wondering why I'm accessing Costco.ca so frequently, I'm going to their photo site to put together a Xmas calendar as a gift for my wife. Have to work on it when she's not around!

After a successful Log-in from Identity Safe ....only drop down options you will see are Do Not AutoFill ~ Manage ~ Logout of Profile. I will only see Manage and Logout of Profile as I have all Logins set on Manual Fill. I want to confirm website is valid and has finished loading before I manually fill. Just my preference...I avoid Auto options whenever I can...I prefer to be notified before an event....
You may also manually input / update URL, User ID and Password data to Identity Safe.
Under Identity Safe Options > Do you have both Login options check'd?
I deleted one of my problem sites from the log-ins list and then re-entered it manually. Now, when I go to the site the log-in details are entered automatically!
Strangely, this same site was also in the Autofill Exclusions list!
Since this issue is not seen in all the logins you have saved, there are chances for this to be because of the dynamic behaviour of the site.
To narrow down the issue, can you please turn off Identity safe and try to save the login and password using the IE's or FF's password manager and check if the autofill works fine. And let us know the result. Thanks
I turned off Identity Safe as you suggested and had FF save my login info. I browsed to Costco.ca several times and it filled in correctly. Also did a reboot and again the page filled in correctly
bjm_ in one post asked, "Under Identity Safe Options > Do you have both Login options check'd"
Only the first one was checked, so I also checked the second one ( multiple log-ins ), deleted the current Costco.ca login in Norton's Manage Logins, went to the Costco.ca web page and asked for Norton Identity Safe to store the login when it offered. Time will tell but things seem to be working ok so far AND Costco.ca now appears in the drop down list under "Cards & Log-ins" It never appeared there before. So I'm hopeful. I'll report back after a couple of days with long term results.
Well the auto-login has quit again; but the good news is I've finished the calendar!
I've put Costco.ca in the autofill exclusion list and will have Firefox fill in the login info and try it over a longer time period to see if it is the Costco.ca web site or not.
We also have NIS2010 on my wife's laptop. It is set up for auto logins so I'll try going to Costco.ca using her computer over the next couple of days and see if it behaves differently.
Thank you Thalir for info re dynamic behavior sites
Curious, manual log-ins never presents an issue for you mike ... Correct ?
Costco.ca Customer Service websupport may offer help with log-in setup help info... I noticed the option "Remember me on this computer" ... this will load cookie to recognize your computer...maybe this option will help ? (you will have to maintain this cookie-not delete) (and do you save or delete cookies & site preferences with IE / FF)
Well auto-login for Costco.ca stopped working on my wifes laptop as well. As you pointed out bjm_ there is a box on the costco.ca login screen to "Remember me on this computer". Checking it will only have my username autofilled from a cookie, so I have Firefox currently storing both username and password for the site. So far it seems to be working ok. I'll continue trying a few logins each day for a while and report back what happens.
I have been hoping another user with a Costco.ca account would chime in and offer comment.
I do not have a Costco.ca account so my only resource is head scratching.
My Identity Safe has 50 Log-ins stored. I guess I have just been lucky or ?
Still, odd to me that Costco webmaster would create a site with special needs. That is why I mentioned Costco customer service web support. Maybe their webmaster is unaware the site has issues with third party "password managers" or web support may offer info to only use browser "password manager" or how to use a "password manager" with site. The Costco.ca Privacy Statement here does explain the sites's use of cookies and web beacons. The Privacy Statement does explain the dynamic (intrusive) nature of the site.

I just called the Costco.ca online support and filled them in on the problem. The gentlemen I spoke to seemed very appreciative of the information and said they will take a look at things. That was more than I hoped for!
For now I'll put a "solution" check mark against your last post re the dynamic nature of their site and let that be the most likely problem in this case.
Thanks for the advice and ideas. Hope you have some hair left!
