Issue abstract:
Detailed description: I get alot of emails with file attachments and used to be able to right click my mouse to scan individual files. The new version eliminates this feature. I’m uncomfortable copying files onto my computer, yet alone opening them, without being able to quickly select and scan them. I’m seriously considering switching out of Norton because of this. Does anyone have suggestions?
Product & version number:
OS details: Windows 11 Pro
What is the error message you are seeing?

I am on Windows 11 with Norton 24.xx, right clicking a file does not show Norton scan option. But, at the bottom of context menu is Show More Options, in there is hidden Norton 360 which brings up sub menu as shown by bjm for an exe. file, for a non exe. file only Scan Select Items For Viruses is available.
rklyn - glad to help, V24.xx may have changed what we were used to., this is going to require a long learning period. The old adage, if it ain’t broke, don’t mend it.
All: The context menu has always be a PITB on Windows 11, and the more options thing isn’t a new feature. Like mgirons said, if it ain’t broke don’t break it lol. I couldn’t agree more.
I have a windows 11 laptop and windows 10 pc andv v this option is gone from both. On laptop when I click on scan in the moe options nothing happens ands nothing to click on pc. If this option isn’t returnd it might be my last norton subscription as I use it a lot to check files and movies I download
I’m on Windows 10 and this feature no longer works.
I had Harjit from Norton take remote control of my PC to try and fix the issue but even he had to admit defeat. He reckons that Norton scans all files before download but that is not the point.
Once again a feature of this overpriced crapware has failed due to an update and Norton just shrug their shoulders and walk away.
Some of us liked this feature but it obviously no longer works and Norton couldn’t give a damn.
So it’s AVG or Bitdefender next time for me.
Honestly, I’d rather just revert back to version 22 than have to wade through hours of research and tech support to fix this and another issue I have with this update.
