Has anyone had a problem updateing from mbam 1.44 to 1.45? I updated but found out that when I click on the update tab I get an error (12150,0,winhttpqueryheaders) other than that the program works good. On other forums it seem like anyone that has a symantec product is also having problems. Mbam always played nice with norton.
Ive been in contact with malwarebytes and they had me disable nis 2010 (yes I have latest and greatest ver.) and tryed to install only to have the same error. I did notice that even with the firewall and AV disabled the (ccsvchst) was still running as always on shutdown I still get windows ccsvchst message even when everythings disabled.
I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems and any luck with this.
I had no problems updating my malwarebytes yesterday from version 1.44 to 1.45. I was able to update it today with no problems, but I don't have NIS 2010. I'm running System Works which has NAV 2009 in it.
I have had the same problem with updating the version via the built in update routine in Malwarebytes. Downloading the program's installer and running it was not a problem however and it installed the program fine. I have N360 v4 which has the same engines as NIS / NAV v17 has so there maybe a small glitch somewhere although there was no errors or messages generated by either Norton or the installer routine.
Floplot, thanks for the info and glad everything is working for you. Have you hit the update tab yet? thats where my problem is.
Nervous wreck, Your about the only one having no problems.
USE, it seems like we have the same problems, I have one question for you, do you get the ssvcshst ending programs message on shut down? with nis disabled I still get it.
Don't forget you can boot into safemode with networking and it will update, I know a pia but it soon will be fixed.
Many thanks to all, the more info the sooner it will be fixed,
See if MWB's is allowed or Auto in NIS firewall, occasionally it threw an error after it updated to the latest version and changing it from auto to allow worked....I think the error code I got in the past was 702 but hey it may work?
Mine updated to 1.45 no problems and using the update feature worked as expected.
I have NIS 2010, the free Malwarebytes, and Vista 64bit. I upgraded Malwarebytes to the new version with the internal updater. I also updated the definitions and ran a Malwarebytes quick scan. No problems so far. I have not run a NIS 2010 full system scan yet.
I saw a thread on on the Malwarebytes forum about adding exclusions to Norton 360 V4 for compatibility. Does that also apply to NIS 2010? I don't have the link but it should be easy to find with the search.
I am also getting the error screen when i try to update new definitions in version 1.45
MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12150.0.WinHttpQueryHeaders)
On MBAM's forum there is alot of talk about fixes or trying different steps to fix the problem. Some having to do with disabling Norton firewall or uninstalling NIS and reinstalling it.
I am not about to start messing with NIS 2010 just to get MBAM updated!
I myself will wait to see what the permenmant fix will be, or maybe at a later date try what worked for dbrisendine.
Since I went to 1.45, I have updated it 3 times and have run quick scans with it. So far no problems with it running. I don't have NIS though, so maybe that is one reason why it is working for me ok.
As MBAM so often was preferred as an alternative or add on in regards to Norton products in this forum it would be a great pleasure, to find a solution asap.
I'm using NIS10 and MBAM 1.45, OS Win XP Home SP3.
The version 1.44 of MBAM and all previous versions work very fine with Norton products in the past, but the latest version 1.45 stops updating with the described error message.
huwyngr, After reading the original post, suggested by SendOfJive, I went to the Malwarebytes' Forum. They have six pages of people with different systems and programs all having problems with the new 1.45 updating process. Some of the suggested solutions were way too involved for me to attempt and there still doesn't seem like a standard solution. But it looks like Malwarebytes' is aware of the problems and are trying to find a cure.
I'm using an old 32 bit HP Pavilion a1637c PC, using the AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, 1.79 GHz, with 1.93 GB RAM, running Windows XP MCE ver 2002 SP3. I am running NIS 2010 ver 17.5.0.127 (it was 17.6.0.32 until I had to reinstall NIS to fix a problem).
XP Pro, NIS 2010 7.5.0.127 Vista Ultimate, NIS 2010 7.6.0.32 Win 7 Pro, NIS 2010 7.5.0.127
I have free MalwareBytes 1.45 on all three with no problems.
Since details often matter:
I uninstalled MB 1.44 using Revo Uninstaller. Restarted, ran ccleaner. Installed MB 1.45. _Un_checked "update". Restarted.
MB forums say to avoid problem go to NIS computer settings, scan exclusions, configure, real time protection exclusion and add: PF/MB/mbam.exe PF/MB/mbamgui.exe PF/MB/mbamservice.exe WINDOWS/System32/drivers/mbam.sys WINDOWS/System32/drivers/mbamswissarmy.sys
I did that. Started mbam, ran update, no problems.
I have run full scans with both NIS and with mbam.
Today I received an alert message, from Nortons 2010, that I had an update that needed a restart to upload. After I restarted my PC, I noticed I now had NIS 2010 ver 17.6.0.32. I opened up Malwarebytes' and clicked on update and everything worked normally, no error messages??? Maybe Nortons and Malwarebytes' worked things out. I hope everyone else with the Mbam update problem, gets the new update and it solves their Mbam update problem.
