My post was locked and unlisted

I would like to know why my post Bug In Norton Notifications Saying Undefined & Will Not Clear was locked and unlisted by a moderator or admin when the post was clearly pointing out a problem with Norton. I was not notified this was done nor given a reason why. I feel this should be unlocked and relisted as I see no guidelines was violated.

Don. This was most likely accidentally locked during the fending off yet another spammer session earlier today. I MAY have even been the culprit. My apologies, your thread is now unlocked and viewable again. Thanks for pointing the mistake out so that we could correct it.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply SoulAsylum and I completely understand how mistakes can happen so no problems and apology accepted. Thank you for for unlocking my post so other users that are experiencing this problem can be aware and for the Developers/Engineers can look into this for us and get it corrected.

Respectfully,
Don

You’re welcome. If I were still on version 24.xx I would attempt to have a look at my machines for a possible answer for you. Unfortunately I have reverted back to version 22.24.8.36 for the foreseeable future while we await issues to be resolved with the current version.

Thank you for your reply. Would you be so kind as let the Devs or those who are responsible know about this problem if they do not already know. It seems to have started on 12/3/24 for a lot of us users. Norton is a great product and I hope these types of problems do not diminish the protection for our computers. My wife and I plus a few million other users plan on keeping Win 10 for a while after the EOL and Norton will play an important roll in keeping computers secure along with the paid Microsoft security update program they are suppose to roll out.

Don

I wanted to let you know that I just did a Quick Scan with my Norton. Once I started the scan I closed my Norton as I knew it would still scan after closing it. Sure enough I got the blue dot on my system tray icon saying that I had a new message. I opened my Norton and went to the Inbox in the upper right corner as always as it said there was 1 message and when I opened the inbox I did not see the “Undefined” message but instead I saw the message “Quick Scan” with “scan complete” and “Details”. I opened the message and saw my results and the message went away and the Blue Dot on my system tray icon also went away. Now I do not know if this has been fixed or in the process of being fixed or if the “Undefined” problem will come back but I wanted to let you know what I saw. If it appears that Norton has corrected this problem and does not come back over the next few days and if everyone is seeing a resolution then I will mark my original post as solved.

Respectfully,
Don

Great news and thanks for the post back. Sometimes a restart or running updates corrects things. Please let us know how this goes so we can follow up.
