Need a way to delete all backup sets

I’ve been trying to find a way to delete all backup sets and turn off backup using the new Norton 360 interface but it has defeated me. I keep getting error messages that something has gone wrong, though I have at least managed to delete all the files after several attempts. (How it has been possible to design and release an app that is this user-hostile is beyond me!)

Can anyone help, please?

Delete Backup with v24 does nothing.

Note Caution: Back Up This PC invokes preset backup run

With 24.10.9535 (build 24.10.9535.880), I need a way to delete all backup sets and files from the Norton 360 Cloud and then to disable this “feature” WITHOUT RESETTING THE REST OF NORTON. I do not have time to reinstall or repair this degraded product. Thank you for any help.

  1. Delete your backup online.
    https://my.norton.com/extspa/backup
    for example:

======================================

Reset to Default did not reinstall or repair my v24
Reset to Default on my machine → No backups created yet

Repair Norton…on my machine… ~ 1 minute + restart machine
Remove & Reinstall…on my machine… ~ 15 minutes + Full Scan
Note: Full Scan is my practice after clean install or RnR
Note: Repair Norton…on my machine…did not change settings

as always, your mileage may vary

Thanks bjm, for such a detailed and complete answer.

As you suggested:

1.) I deleted my online backup at Sign In - Official Site | Norton Account Sign In & Set Up

2.) Settings > Troubleshooting > Reset all settings > Reset to Default.

Which worked as you indicated. Your additional steps were not needed, but under Security > Cloud Backup > Settings, I disabled all those and did not Authenticate Cloud Backup.

Under Settings > Notifications, I muted the annoying Informational and Special Offers. Turned off Remote Management, which I don’t need. May further customize as needed in the future.

Still getting familiar with 24.10.9535 (build 24.10.9535.881) ahead of my Norton 360 Deluxe renewal date. May keep it, but not its Backup. (I use Macrium Reflect and iDrive for that.)

Thanks again, bjm, for your solution to solving my problem. It was A1, 5 star!
