Hi
In NIS 2012 I've just noticed that i get "subscription status: active" whereas previously it was "subscription status: X days remaining". Where can i find how many days of subscription i have left? I did not buy NIS from Symantec directly, it was bought from a reseller and i currently have around 5 months subscription remaining.
Cheers :)
Hi,
This has been noticed here recently. http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Subscription-Status-Active/td-p/784032
To find out how many days you have left, click Support > Subscription Status, or you can sign in to your Norton Account.
Dave
Thanks dave

Did that change it from Active to the number of days?
I've seen it suggested before but don't remember anyone coming back and clearly confirming that that does it.
If it does not then check with Norton OnLine Support via theCHAT route and they can sort it out quickly:
To contact customer support Click on this link https://www.norton.com/chat and work on from there.
Please let us know how you get on ....

Hi psychopomp1,
If you followed the link that Krusty13 pointed to, you probably noticed that some users are reporting the Active status, while other users have the number of days remaining. My experience was after auto renewing my subscription for another year, from Nortons Auto Renewal Service, that's when mine changed from xx days remaining to Subscription Status: Active. Directly before that it was xx days remaining that was displayed.
I will probably contact Norton Chat myself, because I'm still confused as to whether that's what happens now when auto renewing.
I would like to mark off that other thread as Solved, if I were to get a definitive answer.

Ed,
I posted a request for information on this 10 days ago so I've bumped it.
Maybe after the weekend .... weather permitting .....

The same thing just happened to me. I was auto-renewed and now my NIS12 subscription status says Active with no days remaining displayed. Is this normal now?

Hi car825,
Thanks for reporting this. I don't yet if this is the way it will be from now on with auto renewals. To check the number of days remaining on your subscription, click Support > Subscription Status in the upper right of NIS. To see my screen shots in another thread, click HERE to verify you see the same when checking your NIS.
Thanks,
Ed

Can you tell us what geographical region you are in just in case you are in the same area as another who posted on this.
You too Ed and anyone else who encounters this.
It just might help ....
TIA

Hi Hugh,
I'm down here in the volunteer state of Tennessee. Come to think of it, yank is in my geographical location. Yank reported in my original thread on this matter, that his product was showing the Active status also. The other night during the liveupdate issues, when morning came, yank reported from the thread that Gorpy started, that everything was Ok in his state. That state borders my state.
Don't know if it's a geographical issue or coincidence or Nortons new way of displaying the status. More people sure are reporting this issue.
Thanks for your help,
Ed
Thanks Ed,
Have to see if there's any communality on this.
Looks like you might get the edge of Isaac but down to TD level -- he is going past us well out in the Gulf so we've only had a few showers today.
Any word from Symantec on this? Does everyone whose subscription was recently auto-renewed now have SUBSCRIPTION STATUS: Active instead of showing days remaining?
car825,
As asked above could you let us know what georgraphical area you are in in case there is any commonality ....
I have flagged this upstairs and I'll mention the possibility of a link to autorenewal.
I now have "Active" status after the renewal email - Arizona
Thanks Garlen ... was that an autorenewal or one you initiated on line?
Sorry, should have said - auto.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit all patches
Thanks for the update ...
Here in the eastern part of the USA and now reported from Arizona out west.
Thanks to everyone for adding to this.
To anyone new adding to this, remember your days remaining aren't necessarily gone. You can click Support / Subscription Status at the upper right of the product. Additionally, your new expiration date should be in your confirmation email from your auto renewal.
You can login to your Norton Account and the new expiration will be there also.
Ed
Ed,
Are you saying that if you get "Active" and click on Subscripton Status it goes cjanes to dsiplay the number of days on the main GUI and stays displaying that as before?
