Windows 10
Nort/360 Deluxe
Chrome Browser and Edge
Intentionally not installed VPN nor the Safe Browser trying to remove variables to debug.
When Norton is NOT installed I do not have any issues navigation to this website and seeing the info within a frame that is updated my third party.
With norton IS installed I can go to the website, but the info within the frame is not displayed and I receive the following error msg. This form is not allowing me to drag/drop nor upload a jpg.
The message is a pixelated sad face with " abc-xyz dot com refused to connect"
The vendor of the website says it is my browser security that is preventing me from displaying data in a frame that is updated by a thirdparty. I need to identify “abc-xyc dot com” as a safe site. IE whitelist the url.
I have white listed the url on the application inclusion/exclusion list, but that did not resolve.
Originally I would say it was the vendors issue but with it working just fine without Norton, it is clearly a Norton issue.
How do I prevent Norton from blocking this information?
Not sure which version. Can’t seem to easily find it on my Account page. I purchased it this past spring. 360 Deluxe if that helps.
The original website is a member site to the Oxfordclub (oxfordclub com) and the frame is updated by one of there partners… Tradesmith but the error message references (publishers tradesmith com)
not sure you can get to the page considering it is a subscription members page, but if you can, its under “My Portfolios” which list the Oxford Income Letter (among others)… once you open that it has about 6 different portfolios listed. The first 4 I get this error. the last two I can see.
Ok I now have ver 22.24.7.8 Curious as to why the Live Update did not automatically keep me current… but different issue…
but still can’t add images to this discussion and the error is still happening
the issue must be a combo of Norton and Win10.
Using the same subscription of N360 Deluxe on my samsung Tablet… I am able to get to the frame with the embedded info. so there is some issue with Norton playing nice with Win10.
To confirm Norton’s involvement, try uninstalling it and test the website again just using the Windows Defender protection for that test period.
You note it is Chrome and Edge browsers. They are both based on the Chromium platform. Have you tried clearing your browser caches to see if that resolves things? Also, maybe try another browser, maybe Firefox, to see if it is browser related.
Uninstalling Norton was the first thing i did to see what was blocking it. I have my browsers clear cache on closing… so they are always clean. Its a combo of Norton and W10. It wirks fine on my tablet with Android and Norton. Spent enough time on it. Thanks for trying. I’ll just re-evalute Norton when its time to renew.
