I have a Windows 11 (pro) PC with all the latest updates installed with the latest version of Norton 360 (25.8.10387) installed. VPN has recently been refusing to connect. I’ve tried changing regions but all I get is the unhelpful message “There’s been an issue. Try again later or see our FAQ ”. I have done a full uninstall and a clean reinstall of Norton 360 and restarted the computer each time but the problem persists. Any ideas please?
I just tested on my Win 11 system with the same Norton 360 version noted above and had no issue connecting.
First thing to try is to run LiveUpdate again, then restarting your computer to ensure there are no pending updates for your computer and installed apps. Restart, not shutdown and startup again.
If that does not work, from the main Norton interface, click on Settings, then the troubleshooting tab. Click on Repair Norton. After that runs, restart again and test.
I just triedthat and VPN still won’t connect. I then tried a full uninstall using the Norton Removal Tool (including removing all user settings) followed by a clean install and restart, and the problem persists
I received the same message from support in Japan. The problem is already known and is being addressed by the developers.
For the time being, it looks like we’ll just have to wait until a new patch is released.
Same problem here in Brazil. Just stopped. Nothing repair my VPN status. Had that message of DNS hijacked too and get to solved it. But the VPN still dead.
As noted in a post above, Norton Support is aware of this issue and the Dev’s are working on it. What might make it harder to fix is the fact that it is not all 360 users affected.
EDIT
What will help with the diagnostics here is if everyone can send logs to Norton. That way it can help identify what specific items in or on your systems might be involved in this issue.
From the main 360 interface click on Settings > Troubleshooting and scroll down to the Enable Debug Logs and turn that on. Now try to turn on the VPN. After you get the error message go back to the settings page and click on Send Logs.
i did that 3 or 4 days ago. im not new to their incompetence. speaking of which. i just did my 5th uninstall and went with a 60 day trial of norton 360 for gamers from my motherboard manufacturer (asus) and problem is still there for me
