Hi folks,
I have a 1 Gbit internet access (Vodafone + AVM 6660 Version 8.02) the speed is without VPN okay.
If I start the Norton VPN I get max. 1 Mbit by downloads.
The country / town is equal.
I tried it with 2 Win 11 Pro computers. Also I reinstalled the Norton VPN with restarts / regestry cleanups …
How can I see what VPN protocol is in use, or I can change it?
I can`t find the settings below.

The VPN protocol settings were for Norton 360 version 22.x.x.x. If you have been upgraded to the newest version 24.x.x.x, that setting is no longer there.
Have you tried using different virtual locations to see if that helps with your connection speeds?
Hi peterweb,
thanks for your help.
My Norton 360 Version is 24.12.9725 (Build 24.12.9725.903).
I tested with France, Italy, Spain, …
It`s the same download speed around 700kb - 1,1 MBit.
I tried CyberGhost (OpenVPN) on antoher machine and the speed is much better around 15 - 20 Mbit.
Also strange is that.
No other VPNs are installed. I must deactivate ALL other network cards. If I dont do it I can
t deactivate the option.
Activate more active VPNs.
Sorry I tried to upload a screenshot. It was not possible to do that.
Even with your CyberGhost, you are still taking quite a hit on speed from a 1Gbit connection. We have had many users complain about the slow connections with the Norton VPN, that we have been unable to diagnose.
Here is how to post screenshots. How to post screenshots in the NEW forums!
Is it possible to downgrade the version to 22… ?
I would like to see whats happen if I change the VPN protocoll.
If you want to revert to the v22 it is possible. Be sure you read through this thread and note you have to turn off automatic LiveUpdates or you will get updated to v24 again. You will then have to manually update your virus definitions as noted in that thread. Revert to Version 22.24.8.36 safe source file to download
