Have issue with no local backups. Seems I need to revert to version 22.24.8.36. Where can I download that from, please?
Hello Peter. Give this a go:
https://norton.com/cspn360
Just an FYI. When you have this installed and have version 22.24.8.36 immediately disable automatic updates, else your Norton install will update to version 24.xx again. You can keep your virus definitions updated with the Intelligent Updater until Norton has the issues with version 24.xx resolved. I am currently doing this on all my machines.

Thanks for the links and tip to turn off auto-updates.
You’re most welcome!!

@Peter_Evans I’m following up to see what your progress is and assist if needed.

Hi SoulAsylum,
Thanks for the link to version 22. With version 24 the VPN slows my internet speed down from 932 to 1 Mbps.
I have a question. I loaded version 22 using your link and turned off live updates. You say to use the Intelligent Updater for virus definitions. What is that and where do I find it?
Also what are the links for in your posting under broadcom.com Security Center Download Detail. I’m not really computer savvy and couldn’t figure out what to do with those? I wasn’t sure which link to use and what it was for.
Thanks!!
Bill
Sorry for being so hasty with my post. I looked at it again and see that the broadcom site has the links to 4 installers and they are the “Intelligent Installers”. I just installed version 22.24.8.36 so I think I need the installer for “Norton 360 (version 22.9, 22.10 and later)”.
I am assuming that every day a new set of installers is put on the site. Is this correct?
Thanks again!
Bill
That is the correct updater file. Sorry for the tardy reply. And yes, check the Broadcom site at least once a day for a new update file.
SA
Thanks! I hope they get the VPN fixed.
Bill
Indeed so with the VPN. Let us know how your progress is and if we can help further.

Edit, NM. Totally read that wrong. How do you delete posts here? Lol
@SoulAsylum Thank you for the link. Just a quick question, do I need to completely uninstall v24 before installing the linked one, or do I install your linked one on top of the v24?
@V_M Yes, you need to completely remove the current 24.xx version. Then download the revert version 22.24.8.36 and immediately disable automatic updates. DO NOT allow it to run even once, and don’t run it manually.

Intelligent Updater: Download these definitions daily to stay current

Just cancelled my subscription renewal today because of this garbage. Always something stupid and ridiculous with them. Whether it’s the constant upselling. Non-stop marketing pop-ups. Notifications taking up my screen that never go away until you click on them… Them trying to force everyone into a garbage beta UI while removing the “classic” option is the last straw.
Looking closely at Bitdefender, seems to beat Norton at everything. Good bye.
@SoulAsylum
Thank you, worked like a charm, heck, it even remembers the old Program Controls and Traffic Rules I made, which the new UI did not have as option.
@V_M You are most welcome as always!!

@SoulAsylum
I have a question for you. I installed the previous version of N360 and updated the virus definitions using Intelligent Updater as you suggested. N360 reverted without major incidents. (Thank you, once again.) IU runs and confirms that it found a Norton product and applied the update but I see nothing in N360 itself that indicates the defs have been updated. Would you happen to know how to verify this?
In the main UI where it states “You are protected” underneath it should also read “Protection Updates: Current”. That is the only indication you are current because the IU doesn’t update ALL the prospective parts of Norton that a live update would. I don’t see anything in History where definitions are updated for that reason. Rest assured, you are protected and current with virus definitions.
SA
Thanks. I see that now. It was staring right at me!
I also do not see “Protection Updates: Current”.
