Norton 360

Vista.      I dont know if virus is still on here or not and I also dont know what the first antivirus program was on this computer

Hello veranopage,

I apologize for the delayed response. Without knowing this information, it is difficult to proceed with any further suggestions.

If an infection is still present on your machine, that will generally interfere with the successful installation of any security program.

I do not have the expertise to diagnose or resolve potential infections remotely. I suggest that you visit one of the sites listed below which offer free help.  Select one site only and stick with the removal expert who starts with your case; follow the instructions provided by that one person and do not attempt other sources of help.

Regarding the previous security software, please check the original documentation which came with the machine.  It may indicate what was originally installed.  You can also look through Start > All Programs to see if any security software is listed there.   If the previous security was not fully removed, that may also cause a conflict.

Let us know how you do.

My computer was recently infected by a virus/malware the type is unknown.  I was unable to use Norton per other security software installed on my computer.  I have since removed ALL security.  I have tried to remove and reinstall norton 360 more than 5 times, all via the norton remove and reinstall program as well as the norton removal tool.  after installing it again, the same issue repeats itself   error 8504 and error 100.  What can I do to fix this?  This is unacceptable!

On the Norton 360 replace PC tune-up with Norton Utilities it sounds better and it sounds like it is more in depth

Hi,

try Norton Support Live Chat www.norton.com/chat to solve this problem.

Hi Jo,    Did like you suggested, Norton people fixed me right up.  Everythings peachy again !!!!  Thanks,  A.H.

I ran a full system scan using my Norton 360 LIVE but then my Internet Explorer 9 disappeared!

Hi,

Sounds a bit unusual. Have you rebooted?

Thanks

Hi kjellgerik.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums. :smileyhappy:

I am sorry to say that your remaining N360 licence is not valid for anything that will run on your new tablet.

You can buy Norton 360 Multi Device which would cover all three devices but if you still have a substantial period left on your N360 licence that is unlikely to be what you want to do.  However if you happen to have bought your latest N360 licence within the last 60 days then I believe that Norton's refund policy would allow you to get a full refund and you could then consider changing all three over to 360 Multi Device (which would give you N360 on your PCs and Norton Mobile Security on your Tablet).

One thing I would not advise you to do it to load Norton Tablet Security onto your tablet as this is now old software and has been superseded by the latest versions of Norton Mobile Security (NMS).

What I would suggest that you might like to do is to go onto Google Play from your tablet and download and install the free version of Norton Mobile Security (know as NMS Lite).  This will give you some protection and give you a good idea of what the paid version is like.  You can then decide if you want to buy the licence for NMS or wait until your current N360 licence expires and move to N360 Multi-Device.

I hope that helps.  Please feel free to come back with any further questions.

Good luck.

Hi Andmike.

Thanks for your replay.

As I have only 33 days left on my current license, I will do as you suggested and download the free version of NMS Lite and buy the multi-Device version at the end of April to replace both my current lcense and the NMS Lite.

Seems a good plan kjellgerik.

Good luck.  ;-)

Hi again!

I am a little cofused about your product naming. I have now bought the Norton 360 Multi-Device licens, but if looking in to what is installed on the Tablet it says Norton Mobile Security?  I got the impression from your reply that this is an old software.

Please explain, if everything is ok or what have happend?

Regards

Kjell

Hello again kjellgerik.

What I said was -

"do it to load Norton Tablet Security onto your tablet as this is now old software and has been superseded by the latest versions of Norton Mobile Security (NMS)."

So Norton Mobile Security is what you should be looking for and what you appear to be getting.  :-)

Are you happier now?

I can't get my 360 purchased online, to activate on a laptop. I downloaded the programme but it still gives me a 30 day trial

Hi Nureetco2,

Please give us more deatils in regards to the attempted installtion.  What is your operating sytstem?  Are you trying to install N 360 Standard, Premiere, or Gold edition from an online download or a CD?  Was there any antivirus program insatlled prior to trying to install N 360?  If so which product and how was it removed?

The more info you supply, the better we can assist you.

I try to uninstall and got problems with my computer. Does anyone know why?
I hope it is not done porpusfully.

Hi,

Can you be a bit more specific about what you are trying to do and what the results are? The NOrton Removal Tool

www.Norton.com/nrt

will remove all traces of 360 from your computer.

Keep us posted

I removed the above from my HP Pavillion 64 and immediately got connection problems. Does anyone know if the issues are related?

Hi.

I'm assuming that you were having no problems with 360 installed. I'm also assuming that you used the Norton Removal Tool

www.Norton.com/nrt

to uninstall/remove the program. A control panel uninstall does leave bits and bytes in its wake.

Have you installed a new/different security program?

Thanks

I reset my laptop & reran optimize, & it solved my problem.

My disk optimize says error and wont reset

I would like to renew my product (Norton 360), but I thought the the price € 75, was a bit high. So I start looking on the web and I found some (trustworthy) sites who offer Norton 360 for lower price. I am curious how they can offer the product for a lower price than the manufacturer. What do you think about this issue?

Yours Faithfully,

William

Welcome William,
And welcome to the wonderful world of marketing. Norton has a product and they have a recommended selling proce. They do offer their wares to their marketing partners at a lower cost so that the partners can make a profit, stay in business and keep selling Norton products.

Once the product is sold Norton no longer has control over it or the selling price. To retain their partners they do not attempt to engage in any sort of price war. They do from time to time offer 'special' pricing online.

If you buy a new copy of the product from a reliable vendor do not enter the new key to renew until just a few days before your current subscription expires. The new key does not recognize remaining days. It will not be necessary to uninstall and reinstall the product.

Stay well and surf safe

I just had GeekSquad scan my computer for being slow. I was informed that it's Norton 360, that's making it slow. Anybody ever had this happen? They wanted me to delete my norton 360  and install weboot, in its place.
