Norton 360

Hi there,

I'm eating a huge slice of humble pie as I type as I have just rung the UK number and they were very helpful, they have downloaded the 360 via remote access (a bit scary) and it's now up and running!

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice!

If you want to save money go for the cheapest you can find.

If you want peace of mind, stick with the winners .....

PS - He may be but I hope you are not ....

The feeling comes with computers .....

How can I find out which version of Norton 360 I have & how can I find out if I need an update b4 I update it?

Has Norton figured out how you can save passwords in Identitysafe after you have told it not to without having to reload Identitysafe? Has anyone figured out why Identitysafe won't save or load some passwords & what you can do about that?

Thanks,

Jack

Thanks! That worked. Appreciate the help. Now if I can get Identitysafe to work the way I would like....

Jack

So ..... what is the version of N360 and what version of WIndowes including Service Packs are you using?

Then others may be able to help you on Identity Safe .... meanwhile do a search here using [Identity Safe] and you'll find plenty of messages including at least one from Symantec -- names in red -- about a bug in it.

ver 2 but I saw a beta for ver 3...? Have to think about that one! Using Win XP.

Jack

Hi Jack,

Happy New Year!

For more information/troubleshooting on Identity Safe in Norton 360 2.0, refer to this Symantec Support Article. Let me know if that was helpful. I don't think that any information for Norton 360 version 3.0 is available since it is in Beta phase.

I would not recommend "playing" with any beta if you have to rely on it.

Do you actually want some help on Identity Safe? Version number has the format nn.nn.nn.nn

I will stay away from the beta! Thanks, Jack

Hello pencilman

Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum

We can try and help you to remove it in the Forum if you could please give us some more details. What version of N360 do you have? What operating system and service pack also? What virus did it not stop and how do you know you are infected?

I removed norton 360 a while ago.but the liveupdate is still there. why? how do i get rid of it? simply going to the programs and pressing remove doesnt do anything. i also tryed looking up a removal tool online. but no luck. please help.

I looked here http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/bd-p/Norton_360 but could not a answer

What happens when you try to run the Norton Removal Tool?

If you are unable to run in normal mode, restart your computer to Safe Mode and then run the removal tool. Then restart the computer to normal mode, and check whether LiveUpdate is still present.

I have a couple unknown files, seaport & windows cardspace, I guess I was wanting

to delete these files. I  'em under system control utility.

Hi LuvDuv

Seaport is installed as part of Windows Live Services and is Microsoft's search enhancement. Presumably, at some stage, you have installed the Windows Live.Add-in.

Windows Cardspace is normally installed via Windows Update  so you should be able to remove it by going into your Windows Update history and removing it from there.

I asked for help simply 'cause I am naive to computers. Can I or can I not cancel

these programs without hurting my computer? I really need to know this, I have

a lot of work ahead of me. Somebody please help me out, sure would appreciate it.

Thanks

I'm sorry, I'm not following. Windows live add in? This is going to sound silly, yet I don't

have know idea why Microsoft stopped my updates on Windows???
