Here is a Wikipedia link that explains what Windows Live is. It is a suite of apps that includes mail, instant messenger etc.

Are you saying that you can no longer do any Microsoft Updates? What error message do you get, if any, when you try to update?

No. Last time I tried was 2 wks. ago, everything ( this is going to sound a bit awkward ) was gone. My

updates and updates history.

Hi,

you can download Norton 360 from here:

www.norton.com/n360s_4 for Standard version

www.norton.com/n360p_4 for Premium Edition

After installation put your subscription key (what you recieved via email (if you bought it by download), or from the box if you bought a CD copy) into the activation window.

Then use Live Update to get all of the recent updates and patches.

Let us know how it goes.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

What security program did you have installed before N360? How was the previous security program removed? Do you have any other real time security program installed now? Are you trying to install it on an already infected machine? Thanks.

Hello JoanneH

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Can you please give us some information about your computer? What operating system and what service pack and is it 32 or 64 bit please? What version of N360 are you running? Do you know the name of the rogue antivirus program that you have? Restoring the computer doesn't always get rid of the virus completely. Some of these rogue security programs come along with possible rootkits also. Thanks for any further information you can provide.

Hi JoanneH,

Virgin may have changed their email and port settings, as many ISP's have done lately.   So by doing a system restore you may have rolled back to a point that has now replaced the correct current settings with outdated ones that no longer work.  I would suggest visiting your ISP's website or contacting their support people to verifiy the correct server settings to use and to get instructions for configuring your account settings, if necessary.

Hello JoanneH

Please see this thread for a similar problem with email. In that case it turned out that Virgin changed their email servers and ports and neglected to tell some customers. As SendOfJive said this may have applied to you also.

i recently renewed  my  annual y subscription, i have now bought a new computer, can i transfere my norton subscription to my new computer.

To get you the best advice, would you give us some more information about your system:

What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn

If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal commercial version please be sure to tell us.

If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.

Ever since I installed Norton my computer runs really slow and so does the internet, can someone help me?

This is by far the best version of Norton 360 ever released.  I tested everything on this and it works perfectly.  I highly recommend

Norton 360 for all around virus/spyware protection.  Keep up the good work Symantec!  Good Day.

HI Aquaman

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums

I am sure the Symantec/Norton staff will be very pleased to read your plaudits for their software. Thanks for the post.

After some  doubts, I was brave enought to call Norton, and asked them to help me install Norton 360, v5. I didn' want to take a chacnes on repairig myself techical issues. Everything went all right. Norton needs to sell T-Shirts with " I just installed Norton 360, vesrion 5.0, and I am proud of it" , bertter yet" A proud parent of Norton 360, vesrion 5.0". LOL!

I agree,,,,T-shirts...LOL  (((((  WE ARE NORTON...YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED ))))

Computer neu starten.

Ist das Computer neu starten erforderlich ?

Vielen Dank für Ihre Antwort.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen

Ömer
