Since installing the latest patch and updates to Norton Internet Security I cannot right click to 'open in a new tab' with IE 11, latest version, all that happens is a blank page appears.
My Home page opens fine.
An answer given to a similar problem was to re-install IE but how do I save all my Favourites if this is the answer.
Help - having to open as a New Windows, which does work, is driving me (more) crackers.
Is what I have described, or similar, a problem with latest Nortom patch, I seem to be able find several posts something like mine.
If so are Norton doing anything about it or are all those with a problem going to gave to install IE again, until the next Norton patch comes along, when it starts all over again.
It is usually the protection that has to be compatible not the protected.
When you say 'open in a new tab', where you're clicking to open the tab?
If you plan to reinstall IE, usually the Favorites folder is not removed. It is located in your User name folder. When you have re-installed IE, your favorites will be displayed by clicking on the "star" in the upper right side of IE.
If this is not what you meant to say and do, let us know for further suggestions.
When on a page/site using IE if there is a link to another site or another part of the same site, right clicking on that link opens a 'drop down' box. In that box is the option to 'open in new tab'.
Before the latest Norton patch this worked fine and you could have several tabs open, obviously one at a time, which you could move/alternate between.
Now when trying to do this all that opens is a new blank page.
I'm still using NIS 21.2 since the v.21.3 for languages other than English will be updated later, about 7-10 days later. However, I'm not sure that this issue is due to NIS. When NIS has been updated to the latest version, at the same time were released several Windows updates, one of which was reported in all versions of IE (KB2953522)

What version of Windows are you using, include whether 32 bit or 64 bit please. WINKEY + Pause will take you to System Information with details of which Windows you have and if it does not say 64 bit then you have 32 bit but most new computers have 64 bit these days.
Have you checked the Internet Explorer settings under Tools /Internet Options / General TAB > Tabs Button .... When a new tab is opened (make sure it is not on Blank page) .....
Check out the other tabs settings there too since IE11 changes from time to time .....
Have you tried using CTRL + Left Mouse Click to open in a new TAB ? I use that all the time .....
I push the scroll wheel of my mouse down on links and they open in a new tab (not all mice have the middle-click button) - maybe you could try that too?

I too experience this issue. But it is like once or twice.(i use ie11 rarely, very very rarely like one to 5 times out of which one or two times it will encounter this error, so ignores it;)) . For of it happens like this: opening ie11 brings of the home page encrypted. Google. Com. I can search and list the search results but if i tried to open links in a new tab, it is what as Malone described. I have noticed the URL is there in the address box of newly opened tab but nothing happens even if I refreshes the page or pastes a new URL to the tab or a new tab. That is what I observe if I use ie11. Not tried any work arounds as my favorite browsers are FF and Chrome.
Yup exactly the same as malone said. May be its some update of ie11 that conflicts with norton because it was not there till first week of April (for me.). Currently away from my laptop so noway to grab a screen capture. But Malone, is yours same as what I described in previous post? I mean can you see the url on address bar? . .
I'm using WIndows 7 32 bit and IE11 fully updated (like last Tuesday) and I rarely see a blank page come up in IE11 these days although I did at one time. I don't think it is a NIS thing triggering it or more would be seeing it.
Have you tried ungrouping tabs? I have that unchecked but the Next to under it checked .....
One more "what if you" -- what if you click on the Refresh Icon on the tool bar next to the Address box or press F5 refresh?
I used to find this did load the webpage OK in most cases, which makes me think it's an internet situation.
