Issue abstract: Norton Secure VPN does not work on my Mac (Sequoia 15.0.1 Upgrade).
Detailed description:
The status remains on “connecting” and then automatically shifts to “not connected”, and an error window comes up.
I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall the product, but the error persists. I also tried to restart my Mac, but the result is the same anyways.
Product & version number:
Norton Secure VPN
OS details:
OS Sequoia 15.0.1
What is the error message you are seeing?
“VPN is having trouble connecting to the server. Please try again.”
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:
I’m also having new troubles with Norton VPN on my Mac since I installed Sequoia 15.1. Specifically, VPN is now blocking new e-mails from coming in on my primary e-mail address with the ! notice inside a triangle. When I click on it, it says Online Status – Temporarily Blacklisted IP address. Try again later.
The same for : impossible to get a connection even after a restart of the computer or a new connection to Norton account . Appears since OS Sequoia 15.0.1. Thanks for your help
Just wanted to add that I’m experiencing the same problem…it appears to have started the other night when I installed the latest version of Norton AV. Then I had a prompt asking for a keychain password in order for Norton VPN to work. Being pretty sure that I did not have a password to begin with, I eventually found that using my Macbook login appeared to work, but VPN still won’t connect to the internet. Have tried uninstall / reinstall, different networks, sign out and back in again etc. but to no avail.
On the topic of VPN - I keep getting repeated “blacklist” errors for Norton VPN addresses…I wanted to upload a screenshot (*.jpg) as an example, that is not possible…then, when I want to contact support, another error message…“Something went wrong while answering your question. Please try again later”…eventually, I am trying to contact Norton via “Chat”, but I kept being reforwarded back to the Support screen…mayb that’s Norton’s way of telling customers who paid for their product to just “get lost”…?
Same with mine almost…only I don’t get an error notice. it turns itself off. I have to monitor it. I’m running a MacBook Air 2025, running Sequoia 15.4.1 with Norton 25.3.0. How ever I have had this problem for over a year now, running various Macs. see my other posts: Does Norton have more than 1 VPN setting?
