Is there a way to stop norton from upgrading to the new version. I reinstalled my old version and that worked for a few days. Now I am back to the new one. Why is this not an option?
Hello SNYDERA. The only way to stop an older version of Norton from upgrading to the new 24.xx release is to remove version 24.xx. Reboot the machine and install your older version, and disable automatic updates. Please understand that disabling Automatic Updates will also prevent ALL virus definitions and other definitions from being installed as well.

Sadly, this does not work! I did exactly that - uninstalled version 24.xx, reinstalled Norton 360 version 22.23.10.10, disabled automatic liveupdate (but downloading and installing virus definitions manually) … all to no avail.
After a time (approx. 4 weeks) I was shocked to discover that Norton 360 had updated itself to the new version anyway. I checked my settings - automatic liveupdate was still disabled.
If anyone knows of a way to stop this from happening please post on this forum, I’ve been searching for a while and found nothing. Worse, many recent pages to this forum indexed by Google search engine - either don’t load (spinning cursor) or say the page has been removed.
I think it’s important that Norton customers have a choice, updates of this nature should not be forced upon them, unless the previous version no longer works - which it clearly does.
