what happened to the registry cleaner for Norton utilities that was in version 16 I just bought version 17 today cant find the registry cleaner I want them to add it back into version 17 that's one reason I bought it now it kind of looks like system mechanic like the real time boost features and auto care and the way it scans just like system mechanic did they make a carbon copy and why is the registry cleaner not there lets tell them to add it back
That feature, along with registry tools, was removed for the NUP products.

It is just a rebranded Iolo product. I wish that Symantec would bring back the great products of years ago, updated of course...WinFax Pro, PCAnywhere, etc. Those were great products!
Hello stoneyc. Although I CANNOT provide a direct answer as to WHY the registry cleaner was removed, my personal opinion is the legal liability that comes with providing it within a product and users not knowing that it CAN damage a system to the point of not functioning. An older thread here, show discussion about it being removed from other Norton products some time ago. Opinions vary. As an IT professional I always inform my customers to stay away from registry cleaning software due to the risks involved. Hoping an admin or employee can chime is with an answer that goes a bit further for you.
