H everyone, one member is looking into an issue for me however if my own website displays as untested in web Safe catagories when viewed on google or similar, and my site is scheduled for testing, can i still verify the site as safe which is what i have been tring to do, or do i have to wait until Norton catagorizes it is unsafe before I register a dispute ?
I believe the procedure for registering a dispute is only if your site receives what you believe to be an unfair rating:
"If you feel that your Web site has been given a rating by Norton Safe Web that is unfair or inaccurate, you can easily request a re-evaluation."
To the best of my knowledge, registering a dispute while your site is still in the evaluation stage will not speed up the process.
I see that you have added a review and identified yourself as the site owner. I think it always lends credibility when a "real person" is willing to take responsibility for a site and it's content.
Hang in there, with the popularity of the Norton SafeWeb rating system, a lot more sites are trying to acquire that badge of approval.
A meta tag is a container for the Norton Safe Web authentication code which you can add to your website; it enables, in the case of your website verification, a (non-automated) verification process. You can also read more on meta tags/meta elements over here on Wikipedia :-)

4) Where you see "Roll VT" entered, add your Norton Safe Web authentication code by copying the 128 character authentication code (supplied in your confirmation email) and pasting it after "Roll VT", separating the entries by a comma.
It should look something like this when you are done: Roll VT, zz-0123456-abc ....
The authentication code in your keywords meta tag is properly placed and I shall notify the Safe Web team who will manually verify site ownership. Allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
(This method will not allow for the automated verification process within the Norton Safe Web portal, so please don't be concerned about trying to verify that way.)
Once ownership has been verified, your site will be queued for the rating evaluation.
Be sure the code remains in place until ownership is verified. Leaving the code in the meta tag will not affect your site or the visitor's experience.
Best wishes for your website!
If you would like to be notified by email when a reply is posted, go to My Profile > Preferences and check the box for: "Automatically Subscribe Me to Threads I Participate In".
Your site ownership has been manually verified and your site 'http://www.thames-cateringequipment.com' has been submitted for analysis. Note that the initial evaluation process may take up to two weeks to complete.
