Issue abstract: lsass.exe or nllToolsSvc.exe occasionally force the window of any applications that I am using, to un-focus for around 1 second, thus the program not taking my inputs.
Detailed description: Whenever I am using an application in windowed mode, be it a Steam game, a non-Steam game, or even just excel, sometimes in irregular intervals, the window I am using looses focus (the border changes from blue-active to white-inactive) and any inputs I do for it don’t count (especially frustrating in games), I need to click in that window or wait for around 1 second to get focus back automatically. When this happens, the application does NOT freeze, if it’s a game, i can see it normally running while unfocused. I however notice a very short spike in my C disk usage (this is my SSD where mostly only programs, excluding games, are installed). I then had not only my Task Manager, but also Resource Monitor opened and noticed when this happen, 2 programs with Disk Activity appear. One is lsass.exe which apparently is “Local Security Authority Process” which is Windows security related, and nllToolsSvc.exe which seems to be a Norton process. Both of them have the same Write Disk Activity. I can’t really say if this issue occurred after the change from Norton v22 to v24, or if some Windows update caused this.
Is there any way to troubleshoot this or to prevent any of the two programs to stop making me loose focus of the window? My Norton subscription is ending in a couple of days and I am not planning to renew it to see, if the issue will continue when Norton is expired/deleted.
