Our printer continues to be showing that it’s offline when we can use it fine for some other things. I read that A LOT of people have problems with the with Norton and that I should add it as a “Trusted Device” but I can’t figure out how to do that.
Thanks.
@ktburgh This post by Guru bjm should help.

That seems so have worked. Thank you.
Actually, it didn’t work…now it’s back to saying “Offline”
In Norton settings check to see what Norton has your network type set at. For home networks it should be set for private. Norton has a bug where it will set you to Public on its own without any notifications and especially when a restart or boot occurs.

Where would I find this? When I’m in settings I don’t see “network type.” Thanks.
This is an example of where you can view the network type in Norton 360 settings:

Oh my, mine was set to public. What now?
If you have set your network to private check the printers status. It should show as online if its powered on and connected to your network. Then restart, not shutdown and restart the computer you are using. Check your Norton settings again for your network type. Norton MAY change it back to public. If so change it to private again. This is a known issue in Norton that will hopefully be corrected soon.

Thanks so much. I also had to uninstall and re-install the printer…we’ll see if that finally fixes it. Thank you so much for your help, this has been very frustrating. God bless you.
You’re welcome. Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend.
