Help !

"Automatic LiveUpdate - Not run"

They can't auto update !

Because trialware ?

Or Windows Vista SP1 ?

What happens when you do a manual update? Does that work?

manual update is work always

But Auto LiveUpdate NEVER work !!!!

That's mean I must to do LiveUpdate by manual every times on Network

I'm sad.... Auto LiveUpdate NEVER work !!!!

BIG PROGRAM BUG !

First of chill out. Live Update works for me on 5 machines by itself. What other security software are you running?

Thanks for your help

I only use Norton Internet Security 2009 trialware

No other security product

Shuting down Windows firewall and Windows Defender already in Vista SP1 X86

Windows Defender is junk so uninstall it. Have you tried doing a complete uninstall and reinstall using the Norton Removal tool?

Norton Removal tool I used then reinstall twice

I can't found any Auto LiveUpdate +.+

Every times I do LiveUpdate by manual and wait ...

Not any Automatic LiveUpdate and Pulse Updates ...

What do you mean reinstalled twice. You need to use the remvoal tool and unisntall Norton. Then reboot. Clean up any left over files and reboot. Install Norton. Works like a charm. How many more days on your trial?

Sorry...My English is not good...

I already do that as what you say ... and I do twice with all process

I already trial more then 3 days

I discover many one got this problem in this Forum ...

Why can't let us to set update rate like other Antivirus product ?

LiveUpdate should continuous doing job even user idle ... isn't it ?

In NIS 2008 i can set LiveUpdate doing job every 30 min ( I know default is 240 min=4 hr )
But in NIS 2009 if Auto LiveUpdate not work ... nothing I can do

Live Update runs about eveyr 5 -15 minutes. If you did a complete uninstall and a clean install of Norton then it should be working. Are you sure you do not have anything else stopping it? Are you using a hardware firewall? Do you have a router?

Live Update also runs invisible.

Dieselman…this is moving away from the topic, but you recommend uninstalling windows defender completely from Vista?  I believed that running its antivirus protection (but not the firewall as that can cause conflicts) along with Sysmantec created a sort of multi-layer protection.  Then again, intalling NIS 2009 seems to have automatically turned off all of windows defender and I haven’t yet bothered to turn its AV back on.

To get back on track here…ChristopherA has posted some great information about Pulse Updates. I would recommend reading it. Thanks!

Can you check the following settings:

Main UI - Settings - Computer Settings - Updates Section?

It should have two settings one for "Automatic LiveUpdate" and another for "Pulse Updates".  Are both of these set to On?

Hello JK !

Thanks for your help

I already set to On with both  Automatic LiveUpdate" and  "Pulse Updates"

But  Pulse Updates still never run ...

I sure it's not work ... not just report list problem

Because everytime I run LiveUpdate manually per 5~10 min

They are still have stream definition can download ... that's mean Pulse Update NOT WORK !

Please help ! Even that I already reinstall Windows Vista...

I don't know where is the problem...

No one have same problem now?...Pulse Update never work  :smileysad:

Or ...

The problem is UTC+X/-X    or   GMT+X/-X   ?

Because first time I hound streamset.dat

That's modify time even faster then my system time ... so strange !!!

Bug, I'd like to clarify what is happening. If you look at the file modification time of streamset.dat right now (as I suggested here), without running manual LiveUpdate, does the modification time change every 5-15 minutes?
