I am having the same problem but it only started when I installed IE8. So must be something with the new browser which is still in beta.
Definitely good information to have. Let me check something out for you.
I had Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 install on Windows Vista when this issue started. When I uninstalled Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 and went back to Internet Explorer 7 I have not had that issue anymore. I had also emailed Symantec so I could get this resolved some how. I was given a web site address in the email about Norton 360 v2.0 and Internet Explorer 8.
Title:Internet Explorer 8 Beta compatibility with Norton 360 2.0 Document ID:20080306123458EN Web Link
I downgraded to Internet Explorer 7 and things started to work and have had no issues since
[edit: long link to hyperlink for better thread readability.]
Because IE8 is in Beta, there are definitely some issues that still need to be worked out. I would not expect this problem to persist once IE8 is fully released and any appropriate updates are made.
I have no issues with Norton using Internet Explorere 7 or Firefox 3.0.1
Hi, I'm having the same problem with the AT RISK message: Your browser is not set to detect fraudulent Web sites or to authenticate genuine Web site's.
How can I fix this?
I was online and then I noticed Norton 360 v2.0 display a message saying:
Norton 360
Your browser is not set to detect fraudulent Web sites or to authenticate genuine Web sites.
I opened Norton and clicked fix and the issue was fixed. Then less than 10 minutes later Norton gave me the following message:
Norton 360
Your browser is not set to detect fraudulent Web sites or to authenticate genuine Web sites.
I opened Norton and clicked on fixed. This happened about 3 or 4 more times.
Then I opened Norton and clicked on Help & Support and then clicked on Support. Then I clicked on begin Support Session. Then the support Windows stops responding. Then I opened Norton. Then I clicked on Help and Support and then clicked on Support. Then I clicked on Begin Support Session. Then it stops responding. I tried this 14 different times and I get the following error message each time:
Microsoft windows
Norton Protection Center Help and Support Loader is not responding

Why does Identity Protection constantly need me to fix it and why is Help and Support keep saying Not responding and give the same error message each time.
HBGhost: If you use Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 or 2, then uninstall them, and use IE7. Norton 360 v2.0 has no support for IE8, and they don't like each other.
The next version (3.0) I think will be OK with IE8, like NAV/NIS 2009.
I have IE 7. Not running IE 8. Perhaps there is a way to turn the protection on with IE 7?
Try to fix it with Norton’s autofix function. If it’s not work try to turn off IE7’s phishing filter and turn on Norton’s phishing manually in the options window.
PapauZ is right. Just to clarify, AutoFix is the scan that occurs when you have accessed Once Click Support and clicked "Begin Support Session." If AutoFix does not detect anything I would be interested in getting further information.
When is Norton 36 v3.0 coming out. I need to renew my subscription in December 2008.

I am NEVER using IE8. I am going to renew my subscription for 2 years. Then I am going Apple. Then I wont need an Anti-Virus program cause the Mac OS doesn't need one.

I'll answer both comments. A Mac is not impervious from viruses. This is a common misconception. A virus can be written for any computer system. There are just fewer threats for a Mac as it hasn't been as prevelant as PC's.
As to when N360 V3 will come out, I don't have a date, but I would recommend you renew when your subscription comes up as you are entitled to download and install the latest version as long as your subscription is current.
Hi everyone,
Thank your for the suggestions. Somehow, a few days ago, I got it fixed and their is no longer a Red X for Norton 360. I do have a Red X for Ghost 14.0. The error message is "No recovery points exist for HP_RECOVERY (D:\). Remdey: Run the Define Backup Wizard and then run the backup to create a current recovery point."
My issue is that when I run the backup as listed above, I get a message something to the effect there is not enough room on my drive. Ugh, I will try it again when I have time and let you know the actual message, but this takes a long time. If you have any suggestions before I start, I would greatly appreciate the input so I can be on the right track and make this thing work for me.
First tip. New issue = new post. ;)
Second. When you get an error with Ghost be aware that there are multiple parts to these error messages. Check your destination drive for free space. Run Checkdisk /f and defrag the destination drive might help prep the drive. You can also configure your compression for the backup.
Thanks, Checkdisk did not work. I will create a new post.
What you are saying is that I renew my subscription and purchase the Norton 360 v2.0 CD and if my subscription has not expired when Norton 360 v3.0 is released I can upgrade to it for free.

Yes. As long as your subscription is current, you are entitled to install the latest version. That includes when v3 comes out.
