Revert to Version 22.24.8.36 safe source file to download

@SoulAsylum Hello, I noticed the links on the webpage are missing for the definition update. I read these have been appearing and disappearing for the last couple of days.
Do you have information, when the links will be back up?

@V_M Try this link, I see the links appearing my side.

@SoulAsylum

I finally gave up on Symantec ever fixing Norton 360 verson 24/25.. It was hard to let it go after over 20 years of use, but I finally pulled the plug. I decided to use Windows Defender and NordVPN. Thanks for all your help. Maybe someday I’ll be able to come back to Norton.

@Bill_H That is sad to hear. Yet, I feel where you are coming from with the frustration having to deal with version 24/ 25 new releases. I’ve had my share of my account being destroyed, multiple versions of Norton appearing across all my devices, trial subscription being added and a single device on it with a serial number not installed on that device. Then version 24 came along, and that all occurred a second time. I cleaned up the mess the second time around and reverted back to version 22.24.

Then a few days ago one of my laptops was updating to Windows 11 24H2 and Norton decided to take that opportunity to update me from 22.24.8.36 on that device to version 25.xx . Took me two days to get my blood pressure under control again because of that. Seriously!! Since then Norton decided a second time, that my GF’s mini-pc needed to update to the new release as well. Automatic updates and scans were disabled on both. Logs show that without question. During that update, the CPU went over TjMAX allowed temps and ran hot, making matters worse, we were not home during the time this happened. Otherwise I would have heard the cooling fan screaming and shut it down. Its now toast, but the SSD and memory were reusable so that went into a new computer for her. Its running Windows Defender and will stay that way. Both laptops are now offline until I have the free time to remove Norton from them and get onto Defender.

After this Avast engine fiaso gets sorted I will reinstall Norton on them once I can determine things are the way they should be. So in all aspects I have every reason to just walk away and not use Norton. I would still do my best to assist here on the forums though. Companies that have had massive consumer walk offs, know all too well what that does to the internal culture there. It stinks. Dog eat dog when the layoffs start, and worrying about who is next. I HOPE, those who have the ability to fix these issues and not do so at the expense of customers decide sooner than later to do just that. I hate seeing great companies become self-destructive, allowing marketing to drive the business into the ground and never see it coming. End rant!!
