Would be interested to know the experience of Community Members who are currently running Norton 360 RTP & MBAM RTP together on Windows 10 & Windows 11 PCs/laptops, & in particular, (1) whether they have encountered any compatibility &/or system performance issues, (2) whether the added value to N360 RTP is worth risk, (3) the Folder/File exclusions (if any) set for MBAM In the N360 Exclusions List, & for N360 in MBAM’s Allow List.
fwiw ~ my preference is mutual exclusions
Hi bjm
Thank you very much for your reply.
If possible, please advise:
Are you using a Win10 or Win11 PC/Laptop?
What exclusions are you using in N360 & in MBAM?
Have you encountered any compatibility issues?
Have you experienced any adverse effects on system performance, or issues of high use of System resources (CPU, Memory) in Task Manager, by N360 &/or MBAM?
When I’ve tested Malwarebytes real-time along side Norton v22. I’ve added Norton Program Files/Data to Malwarebytes exclusions and added Malwarebytes Program Files/Data/files to Norton exclusions.
Add Malwarebytes to the allow list on other apps here
Caveat: I do not run Malwarebytes real-time along side Norton v24.
Thank you very much for your reply & info.
Are you using N360 V24?
If yes, I would be interested in your reason for not running MBAM RTP & N360 RTP together on N360 V24?
I have been running them together on N360 V24 since July24, without any noticeable problems so far (not to say for certain that aren’t any).
The only problem (that might be related to running N360 RTP & MBAM RTP togethet), that I am experiencing on my Acer Windwows 11 Por Laptop, is that takes the “N360 Home Window” about 18 secs to open, instead the expected 6-8 secs.
Thanks for the MBAM webpage link for the MBAM Folders & files that should be added to the N360 V24 Exclusions List; however, MBAM Support has recently advised me, that only the following 2 MBAM folders must be added to the N360 Exclusions list, & that the MBAM files listed in your link are not required:
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes
C:\Program Data\Malwarebytes
- Yes, N360 v24.
- personal preference
Okay…Thanks…maybe, Malwarebytes v5 differs from v4. I’ve not tested Malwarebytes along side Norton…long time.
Note: my preference for mutual exclusions stands
Thank you for your reply & answers.
For the record, on my Acer/Win11 Pro Laptop, I am currently using Malwarebytes V. 5.2.4.157 (Release Date 16Dec24), & Norton 360 V. 24.12.9725.1248 (Release Date 23Dec24).
Whenever a new version of MBAM or N360 is released & installed (particularly if there is a “big jump” (e.g. N360 V22 > V24, & MBAM V.4 > V.5), it is advisable to review the MBAM & N360 Exclusions, so I am keeping track of the versions.
In case I gave you the wrong impression, I am using mutual exclusions, & based on advice received from MBAM Support, the Norton 360 folders that I have added to the MBAM Allow List, are as follows:
C:\Program Files\Norton
C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton Installer
C:\ProgramData\Norton
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Norton
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Norton
Whilst I want to be notified of replies to this discussion topic, I would prefer that the details of replies are not included in the email notifications. Is there any way of preventing this? All that is really required is “Member XYZ has replied to last reply of specified date & time”.
Thank you for your advice.
