I have my Full Scan set to do a full scan every Saturday at 7 AM. It didn't do it today so I manually did it. This happened once before . Is there any reason this could happen? Also my last auto quick scan was Feb 9. It usually does 1 or 2 automatically every day. Last time it failed to do a full scan automatically I went and undid the setting and put the same setting in again and it worked the next Saturday.
As long as I have auto quick scan and live updates I wouldn't uninstall and reinstall as I can always do a manual full scan---I only do that once a week unless I would suspect a virus, etc.
Is your time, date, location correct? If a laptop, was it plugged in? If I remember correctly, there was an issue with Live Updates and SDS Definitions not downloading. Perhaps that messed up your timing. I would say, wait until this Sunday and see if it runs ok. Check and see if the settings are still ok.
There is an Announcement on top of the Forum about this new Update. If you are 64 bit, then you got just about the whole program in 64 bit. That would include NPE.If it actually updated, sorry I wouldn't know.
When I played, Quiet Mode came on and went off when I finished. That was many months ago.
To:flopot I posted earlier the comment below about gaming. However, I stopped gaming a few weeks ago and didn't have the problem so I don't know why it suddenly started, but I will go back to this remedy if it happens again. Anyway, thanks for your comments.
Turning off Silent Mode in Settings--Administrative Settings resulted in a fix for getting automatic Live Updates. Now I'm waiting to see if I get automatic Quick Scan and scheduled Full Scan---which I suspect will happen. The Norton Administrator sent me a private message to try this and it worked for automatic Live Updates .
I never had turned the Silent Mode on or knew what it mean't until I investigated after the private message. Somewhere I read that Silent Mode can be turned on if you have been playing a game and I guess other things could cause it to change from OFF to ON.
Is your computer a 64 bit computer? Do you do any online gaming or watch a movie on your computer. It gets turned on to do such actions. Perhaps it didn't go back off like it should have..
FWIW, my Comcast Norton Security Suite (a clone of N360) on WIN 7 was exhibiting the situation of no auto LU, running of auto background checks, nor Quick Scans. I checked my Silent Mode and it was OFF as it always is. I turned it on for about 5 minutes - no effect, and then turned it back off and within 10 minutes I had all my background tasks (including the grayed out maintenance ones, auto LU and am waiting on an auto Quick Scan to run.
My NS Premium (NSBU) on WIN 10 has been running the Auto LU and Quick Scans and Silent Mode has remained OFF after the update and I have not switched it on/off. So it wasn't needed on this system.
<EDIT> Auto Quick Scan did in fact run when I left the NSS system go into Idle about 15 minutes after the auto LU and also I checked the Graph and it showed the Quick San done one time today. It appears toggling Silent Mode OFF and then back ON did the trick. Don't forget to Apply after changing it both times.

I had the same thing with Live Update not running and scans not starting since the first EAP version and now these bugs have been released to the masses.
I have reported this thread to the Admin'. Let's see if they can look into it for us.
