You need to renew the 3PC subscription and that will result in the extension of your current subscription period once they are synchronised with the Symantec servers or purchase a new 3PC version and use the activation key from that on the 2 PC s that are about to expire (in 2 days I understand).

Are these 2 subscriptions registered under the same account? I would contact customer support and see if they can some how combine the 2 subs. Only customer support can fix activation and subscription problems. Please explain to them what you want to do. You can contact customer support for free via the chat program.

1.)  I had 4 computers, all with NAV installed.  Now have only 3.

 

2.)  Current subscription status:

 

          a)  subscrption for 3 computers     -     3 installed, 0 available     -     Expiration:  Mar. 14, 2011

                     ( 2 installed on current computers  -  NAV10 automatically upgraded to 11)

 

          b)  subscription for 3 computers     -     1 installed, 2 available     -     Expiration:  Jan. 03, 2012

                     ( 1 installed on current computer    -  NAV11)

 

3.)  My question:  How do I install available 2 subscriptions on 2 computers whose subscriptions are expiring?

( I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, but with no effect on expiration date.).

Do you still have the machine you replaced? If so please remove NIS from it.

 

If you then install NIS 2011 on the new machine and go to activate it you will probably get an error message that you are exceeding the permitted number of activations and I think it will leave you with a 7 day trial installation -- Norton's Trials are fully functional so you aren't in danger from having a crippled installation.

 

Just contact Customer Support using OnLine CHAT and they will sort out the centrral database.

You can choose CHAT or Email; email or phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.

Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.

 

If your 3PC  NIS is on a CD I suggest you download this file since it is the most uptodate version of NIS 2011 and may require less updating than the CD but after installing run LiveUpdate Manually with a reboot in between until you get a message that you are fully uptodate

 

New NIS 2011:

Click on this link -- NIS 2011  This will download a single file of around 90MB which you should save on your hard drive where you can use it again if necessary -- Do not select Run but use Save when asked and remember where you put it!

If the new machine has Windows 7 (or VISTA) on it I find it helps to right mouse click on the downloaded file and select Run as Administrator to install it.

A laptop was bought in 2010 with a 3 year subscription for Norton 360. Symantec were advised to cancel the annual (automatic renewal) subscription for my desktop as I would be sharing the 3 year sub. In 2010 and 2011 Symantec have taken £65.99 each year in spite of being told not to. I can't find anyone in the organisation to talk to and cannot get any sense from anyone by e-mail. Can someone point me in a direction whereby I can talk to a person who might be able to help?

Thanks flo -- that link takes even me to the UK page with CHAT on it and the United Kingdom & Ireland location on it at the top but I've just tried 3 different routes from US to UK and on from there -- and every time saying I don't want to make the change permanent -- and every time I get to Sorry we can't help and pointed to CHAT it's the US page.

 

I don't particularly want to make the permanent change to see if that's it but I may yet and then change it back.

Hi, I am having the same problem. I have 45 day trial left and entered my product key and even after rebooting the machine it still says 45 days and it should be 355....any ideas?
