Surfing is extremely slow when web monitoring is active

Hi,

I purchased a new HP for my son. It came with norton security 2010 installed. We have not installed any other software. When the security software is running, web performance is very poor. I also get very long ping response with it enabled (~350ms vs ~20ms), when pinging public hosts, such as our ISP DNS servers and routers.

 

Is there a solution for this? From the posts, it seems to be a widespread problem.

I'm sorry that I'm not sure if you are talking about the Norton Security 2010, or Norton Online Family.  The forum is for the product Norton Online Family.   If you meant to send the post to the Norton Internet Security forum, I'll be glad to forward it to the forum, so you can get some assistance.
